Attractions That Don't Involve Lots of Walking

My parents are in town and neither of them can walk much. My mother uses a walker and my father just injured his knee. I need to come up with a few things to do with them that won't involve a lot of walking because I can't push two wheelchairs, and I can't get a scooter because I don't have any way to transport one. We were going to try Disney and just the logistics of getting both of them to where I could rent an ECV and a wheelchair was too daunting.

Any suggestions? Please? They're relatively young and like to be doing things, they're just unable at the moment. They would greatly prefer to do things actively *with* my children (ages 5-12), vs. just watching them do something.

Thank you!

How about the I-360 attractions? They are usually running a buy 1 get 1 free 3 attraction ticket (the Eye, Sealife, and Madame Tussauds), so it shouldn't cost too much. Gina-Bo-Bo posted lots of pics and they didn't seem too big and they all looked kid-friendly, especially the Eye (which has a 4d movie and then the ride which I think you can sit in if needed). And, if you're youngest was up for it, an Escape Room could be fun for your group, and they are also always running groupons (you have 1 hour to get out of the single room and you and the kids could do most of the "searching" and tearing up of the room while your parents do a lot of the thinking:)...you could also try the Crayola Experience if your 12 year old didn't think it was too babyish - lots of opportunities to sit and do, versus running around (which is also possible)...

Ooh, good ideas.. thanks! What's the deal with the Escape Room? Is it scary?

Escape Rooms are like "solve the mystery" rooms. You get locked in a room with a big mission (that is broken into parts) and you have an hour to complete the mission and unlock the door. It's usually best for ages 8 and up (although the 5 year old would be just as good as anyone in some of the "find the key" missions in the room:)...The onsite folks who run them normally have a way to send hints to you if you get stuck and it's a total team thing - it was very fun for us and we look forward to trying it again when we get a chance (we love trying to solve mysteries and puzzles:)...

Here's a good one...https://www.escapology.com/orlando -but there are many others in Orlando...Kate plus 8 did one on her recent family trip with her 10s and 14s (didn't see it, but I saw a preview of her show watching a different show:)...

Here's an article discussing all the ones around by March 2015 (and there may be more now - it's a hot entertainment trend)...http://www.orlandoweekly.com/orland...-rooms-worth-checking-out/Content?oid=2372599

Hmmmm....that's a tricky one....

Definitely the Orlando Eye is a great suggestion, as TwoMisfits noted above.

If you think Mom & Dad could get up the stairs and onto the truck (and the jostling wouldn't aggravate the injury to your father's knee), a monster truck ride through the orange grove at Showcase of Citrus would be fun.

An airboat ride is a great family activity, and tons of fun! (Wild Florida and Wild Willy's are both excellent)

What about a character meal? Something like Ohana's at the Poly would be perfect, as the meal is served family-style (not getting up and down to get food....just sit at your table and enjoy!)
