Attraction Experts Advice for Coaster Weenie DH

I'm a coaster weenie and will ride everything in Universal. In Islands of Adventure the only rides I didn't do are Hulk, Dueling Dragons, Dr. Doom and the spinning thing next to Hulk - I can't remember the name of it (think teacups). Everything else was fine, although I can't ride the Mummy or Men in Black multiple times back to back. I can do them once in the morning and then once again later on in the day.

ohhh

He wont touch Splash Mountain, so I guess they are all out except Popeye's! Thanks for giving the measurements and the comparison to Splash Mountain, it helps me put it in perspective. (, now I am a little shakey about doing Jurrasic Park! Ack!)

oh heck, do JPRA.....

once you see the T rex, you'll be screaming your head off over that, not the fall.........:rotfl:

Oh, the kids will have me on that for sure, and probably drag me on hulk and DD as well - I will try it once.

I finally tried tower of terror my last Disney trip - I was terrified of it, and it was the only Disney thrill ride I had never done. My friends said the same thing as you Damo, it only lasts a few seconds,,, so I worked up the nerve and tried it.

Its my absolute favorite ride at Disney now - love it!

Thanks for everyones advice on this thread, I think by the time we go to Universal, I will feel like a pro!:cheer2:

If you really, really want to impress your family, take a look at the tips on how to score well on Men In Black and beat the pants off of them!.:cool1:

i like all the coaster rides.
but, i think you might get scared just a tad on the hulk. but once you have gone once, you will want to go again!

i don't know about everyone on that ride, but when i go on it, i used get my head and neck jarred more from one side to the other.
i have tried to hold my head to one side and it didn't work.
i now fold my hands and press my head against them leaning on the side.

if you start to feel jostled, brace her head on an open hand against the head portion on that ride so you don't feel the movement.

i think if you do Dr. Doom first, you'll be ready for Hulk....
always getting my plug in for that ride.:teeth:

i find dueling dragons very smooth.
you will enjoy that ride also.

Hi. My name is Tracie. And I am an admitted Coaster-Weenie. :rotfl2:

I cannot do Hulk, Dragons or even the flying Unicorn. Go AHead, laugh.

I CAN do ROTM because I cannot physically see the coaster track. Some people are like that. I think the steepest drop on the Mummy is 25 feet. I believe the top speed is 45mph. But it is quick and in the dark.

I CAN do JPRA. I close my eyes on the drop after the T Rex. One of these days I will be brave enough to open them. I was tired of sitting out the rides while everyone else had fun. If my 7 year old can excitedly do Jurassic Park - then heck - I can too. Can't show him I am a fraidy cat, right??:rotfl:

Anyway, if DH sits out 3 or 4 rides, that is not too big a deal. He will really like all the simulators and other rides. And I totally agree about Popeye - make that the last ride of the day or bring a total change of clothes. You WILL get wet :upsidedow

Have a great vacation and be sure to come back and let us know how it all went (preferrably with pictures) :flower3:

I think, Tlinus, that my DH is very much the same way, if its in the dark and he cant see it, -- its all good.

Hmmmm, that does not say much about me, does it?

Thanks for the Hulk riding advice Macraven, I will be sure to use it. I am pretty sure I will try Dr Doom as well, seeing how much I adore Tower of Terror -- as long as I dont wimp out!

Off to read about MIB Damo, I never even noticed that sticky- thanks!

My Teenage daughter will help take some pictures on the trip -- DH will never know he is being photographed for a coaster weenie trip report :artist: :hyper:

I don't think that the drop at JPA is that bad. I won't go on Dudley Do Right or Splash Mountain, but I don't mind JPA. Maybe because the drop doesn't seem to be as steep as the others (I don't like things that go straight down), even though the drop is higher? My DH also is a chicken about going on many rides, but did like JPA.

I actually like Splash Mountain better than JPRA...it's a longer ride and has lots of little drops to tease you until the big one!

Thats the reason I like Jurassic more actually, its a very relaxing ride and the last drop is not bad at all. Dudley was torture for me, all those little drops and the water guns getting soaked the whole way saying o this is it for x amount of small drops.
