ATTN RECENT VISITORS : Disney Resort RFID Locks on Rooms

I guess we were lucky, no problems with our RFID keys at VWL

I'm not sure if someone has mentioned this, but we just got back from CSR and they had them.

I had them at POFQ and AoA in October. Loved them.

My bag has a card pocket under the front flap, I just waved the front of my purse at the door and it opened.

In fact it hung on me crossbody really near the lock height and one night I just hipchecked the doorknob.

I searched and found a bunch of posts on this but nothing seemed to be 100% confirmed.

Can any one just back from a trip comment on whether or not your resort was using the RFID 'wave to unlock' room keys?

I read elsewhere on the internet they were installing them at the All Stars Resort on the week of November 28th ... of course they are in place at AoA ... and I think I read CBR had them as well.

Where else?

BLT, CR (first to install), WL, BWI/BWV, YC/BC and BCV, AoA, OKW, CSR, AKL, AKV and Kidani had RFID locks installed in August.

My room at Pop Century did not have an RFID lock. I had to open the door the old fashioned way - sliding the key card into the lock.

This was Dec. 5, 6 and 7, 2012.

My room at POR had the RFID lock. I stayed there over Veteran's weekend 2012.

AKL had started installing them while we were there in August, but we left before they got to our floor!

My room at the All Star Movies had them...I was there Nov 28-Dec 3..however they were in the process of installing them while we were there. They should be done with that resort by now I would think.

We had them in Oak Manor at POR 11/24-12/1.

Kind of a pain, if you don't wave it just right, it doesn't work. And one of our keys was de-sensitized, of course at night when we were tired and cold and had to trek back to the lobby. But my DD thought it was cool.

BWV has them, you just tap the card against the lock!!
