I would like to recommend a place if you need a break leaving or going to FW.
It is At exit 8 at Hilton Head Island, SC. We spent this past weekend there, hate to even give this great seceret away, but it was awesome, 19 miles off of I95 (so it's not terribly out of the way). The link is below. The cost was $38 per night~$48 for water front. 5 mi from the beach with lots to do. 2 pools, hot tub and the bath houses were very clean. The pads are all cement and it was truly an enjoyable weekend. I just wanted to let all my friends here know about the place as I would highly recommned it. Happy RV'ing!

Thanks for the review. We are going to be staying here for a few days before heading down to FW. I found other positive reviews on the site rvparkreviews.com . Sounds like you enjoyed it. Did you have kids with you? Was there enough to keep them busy? ::MickeyMo

Thanks for the heads up, we are heading down to the FW in October with our TT and were actually talking about where we could stay on our way down there!!! Will show my husband your thread!!!

Yes, there is plenty to do, yes in deed. We took our children DS-15 and DD-9, additionally we had friends in tow with there DD-7 & 3. If you like shopping, or beaches, skim boarding, body surfing and such, there is plenty of coastline to do that type of thing. Disney's Hilton Head Resort is between the RV resort and one of the beaches, so you might even want to jaunt off and give it a look. There are plenty of touristy things such as miniture golf, fishing, boating, wave runner rentals etc...We did like it alot, I would say the camprgound itself is right along the lines of Disney quality, with lots to do around and in the campground. I told my husband (from the small restuarant on the 2nd floor-overlooking the water and pool) if you get real creative it would remind you of the bow of the Disney Magic overlooking the castmembers pool. One pool is right on one of the inlets, remember this is an intercoastal waterway, not the ocean itself!! I really don't think you'll be disappointed though. My hubby loved the paved pads, no tracking shell/dirt into your camper. Hilton Head is really known to be a financially well off area, lots of high end vehicles driving around, if you know what I mean, it is truly a resort area with lots touristy things to do and beach to relax. While your there, IF you like wings, try Wild Wing Cafe...32 different type of wings~YUMMY!! Hope you enjoy and anymore questions, let me know.

How far is it from the campground to WDW specifically Fort Wilderness?

Just keep in mind you've got to pull through Jacksonville and the Orlando. It may take longer than you think to get to FW from Hilton Head, we can usually stretch the trip to 6 hours with all the pitstops and refueling and we are south of Savannah. Just wanted to add this info from the previous post.

I can't get into the site. Just a pink page with one photo and the words "Formerly Outdoor RV Resort & Yacht Club is now HILTON HEAD HARBOR RV RESORT Hilton Head Island, SC 29926 " and the song "Down By the Sea"
