Okay - so lately I've been pretty stressed out, bummed, and worried about our $$$, even though we have a roof over our heads, money to buy the necessities, and lots of love to go around.

So instead of thinking of all the things you CAN'T do on a tight budget, I've decided to make a list of things we CAN do in the mean time before our WDW trip for fun. :) Help me add some!
#1) Play board games
#2) Enjoy the Disney DVDs we'll be getting from our Disney Club membership! 4 of us are chipping in to buy the DVD's we were looking for anyway. :)
#3) Hunt down "free" coupons for dinners for those party nights when the 4 of us get together for a Disney movie marathon or board game set up.
#4) Go to Dog beach when there is good weather and watch Clydas be a mad man. :rotfl2: That's always entertaining... except when he got humped by that Rotwiler... :rotfl2: Poor guy didn't know what to do! (Clydas is our 7 month old brindle boxer boy - training to be a show dog.)
#5) Sit out in the Jaccuzzi! This has become a weekend ritual, every Saturday and Sunday.

Good thoughts! It's nice to remind yourself of your blessings, I too am quilty of that. Health is a big one. Having your family to play board games with. DD loves movie night....and it's free!

Borrow books, CDs, DVDs from your local public library

Graet idea! I need to remind myself to get a library card. My current job is right next store to ours, so I could swing over and pick something up on lunch! :Pinkbounc
Keep 'em coming!

The Dollar Theatre!! (ok so sometimes it is more than a $1.)
I'm still bitter that they tore ours down! :scared1: And they call it "progress". :smooth:

Play free games on the internet (www.popcap.com)

Get out that old athletic equipment (bikes/rollerblades/tennis rackets) and use it.

Cook yourself a fancy (but inexpensive) dinner

Give each other massages. Teach your DH to give you a manicure. Better yet, call your girlfriends and have everyone bring over all their beauty junk for a makeover day.

Visit your local parks.

We have a free zoo, art museum and history museum in town.

Check out what your house is worth...I'm in California also...but Northern...and all I have to do to make myself happy is check out the resale price of my house. I was talking to one of my families today...I teach for a charter school...and we were both saying how having a house in California is like winning a lotto, you just have to be careful about how you spend your windfall. I saw your other post and agree with those that told you to adjust your withholding...you'll have more disposable income. We did that when we bought our first house, made a big difference.

We have been inviting friends over to play cards or Craniuim, it is a really fun game that up to 8 people can play! You could tour a winery (there must be several near you!) and of course sample some of the wines for free!Do you have a digital camera? you could take pictures of your dog, your home, anything of interest to you, and start a memory book or scrapbook. You could volunteer, be a mentor for an at risk kid, or join an adut literacy group, helping older people who need support. You will be surprised at how satisfying something like that can be! Do you like to read? get together with some friends and have an informal book club, alternate houses to meet at, discuss the book, and have a light meal or snacks.Have a themed night dinner- involving other couples. Meet at someone's house, say for Mexican. One couple brings everything needed to make Margarita's another couple brings the Guacomole and tostidas, someone else brings enchilladas..... Everyone has fun,and no one spends alot of money! Do you and your husband have mountain bikes? you could take bike trips, pack a lunch spend the day getting exercise and seeing the countryside without spending alot of money. :cool1:
