Attire for First Penance

I just realized DS will be making his first penance in a few weeks (March seemed so far off when we first got the date). Im wondering what do boys usually wear for this? I know he will wear a white suit for First Communion, but I dont know what the norm is for First Penance.
So what did your boys wear?

Ds did his last year. He wore khaki pants and a sweater. For First Communion he wore a dark blue suit. He looked so handsome! BUt he waas the ONLY ONE in a suit. Most kids wore a shirt and tie.

Katie--Ian did his back at the beginning of December. It was VERY casual. Attire ranged from dressy (one little boy had on a suit) to super casual (jeans and hoodies).

Ian wore khakis, a button down shirt, and a sweater.

The way our Pastor handled it was that there were 6 different priests in different areas of the chapel, on the pews, the kids just went and sat down next to them, and they talked. No going into the big, scary confessionals.

had the white robes with gold trim for their First Communion and also confirmation too......Penance was done at night and the kids wore their coats for the most part .....

Our parish did it just like debsters. Only we had I think 4 priests. It was very casual. Maybe 1 or 2 kids wore jeans. The boys mostly wore khaki pants and shirts. The girls wore pants and a nice top.
