I'm a little embarassed to ask this question but I'll go ahead and make a fool out of myself. I began this afternoon getting our clothing ready for our Wonder Cruise on 4/7 and was wondering what do most folks wear when they check in at the terminal and for embarkation? I was assuming that shorts or slacks would be OK since we will in Florida but wanted to make sure by asking the experts here first. I understand that we are suppose to pack a carry-on bag and I was going to just put our swim suits, medication, toiletries in there. Since I requested late seating and it will just be dh and I I'm hopeful that our luggage will be delivered to our stateroom before dinner so we can change clothes. Will this be OK or should I bring along dh's dinner jacket and my dress in our bag we carry on? I'm thinking we might get Lumiere's first night so that is why I think we will need to change clothes. Oh dear....I'm turning into an A-1 worry wart this last week Please advise me on my packing and what to wear for Day 1. Thanks
Definitely wear shorts or other comfortable attire for embarkation.
Don't worry about bringing your first night's clothes in your day bag, your baggage will be at your stateroom in plenty of time for second seating dinner. And if for some strange reason it were not, they allow basically any attire in the dining rooms the first evening if folks have not yet received their bags. But that only rarely affects early dinner seating folks, I have never heard of anyone with late seating not getting their bags before dinner.
I saw it all in the embarkation line on my cruise, from down and out comfort wear ( almost pjs) to dressed up. If you have late seating, there should be no problem getting your stuff in time.
Shorts and slacks are perfect
have a great cruise
Thanks for the information Michelle and Perdidobay!! This board has been so helpful in preparing for our first cruise and I am most appreciative! I am getting so excited with just a week to go and I'll probably think of another question to ask before the week is over. Thanks again for your help
It is advisable to dress in layers. If you are too hot, you can remove a layer. If you are too cold, you can add a layer. But it is a DCL requirement that you wear at least 1 layer.
