Does anyone drink loose tea here? I always was a tea drinker, but years ago, tea just lost it's flavor to me. I became a coffee drinker instead :rolleyes1 . I do like coffee, don't get me wrong, and order from Gevalia. A new store opened up at the mall near us called Teavana. Delish! but expensive for how much tea I drink, even at work.

Does anyone know of online sources for loose tea that they would recommend?
I did order from Adagio, and will be ordering again soon. Englishteastore is another, but was not happy with the flavors.

Thanks

Mariage Freres teas are delicious, but expensive. I think William-Sonoma carries them. Twining makes a variety of loose teas. I know you asked for only loose tea, but have you tried The Republic of Tea teabags? I don't like fruit flavored tea as a rule, but theirs are very good.

I drink loose tea, but I don't have to order it on line. There are two tea stores a 5 minute walk from my house. I am currently into green and rooibos (red) tea. You can get some really yummy flavours. Depending on the variety of tea it can be fairly cheap or really expensive.

I love Twinnings myself, both their bag and loose teas. I do like my tea with milk though, and most herbal teas curdle the milk, blech.

My absolute favorite is Taste Of Summer, but it's hard to get. I have to order it from their website. Fortunately Four Red Fruits is almost as good, and Black Currant is quite tasty. The herbal peppermint is very good. I also love the jasmine in the loose tea line, and my DH drinks the Lapsang Souchong. I sometimes even add a pinch of the Lapsong when I want to add some smoky flavor to dishes when I'm cooking.

I used to like Stash teas a lot, but nowadays I am a Twinnings convert, all the way.

I buy loose tea from the following places
http://www.tigermtteaco.com/ this is a local tea store but I have found the best loose tea from them. I liked angels dream and dragons tears jasmine pearls.

Also I use http://www.murchies.com/frhomeDec27.html
THey are located in Canada but they do ship to the US and they have good tea as well. I recommend the empress blend from them I really liked it.

I bought a great cup from tiger mt. that resembels the coffee cups you get at places like starbucks but at the top lip area is a strainer that will screw on and off and filter out the tea for you. I find it a lot easier to drink as I dont need to have a special spoon ect to drink my tea. On top of the strainer thing is a screw on cap that helps keep it hot and the mug is see through so you can see your tea.

I love tea. I haven't ventured into loose teas yet though. They scare me. I am going to have to try. We have a Tevana in our mall, maybe I'll check it out to start.

I love Republic of Tea. It's my favorite brand of tea by far. I get mine at Panera Bread.

Me too!! My favorite is the British Breakfast tea. I get it every time we go. A couple of packets of Splenda and I'm all set.

Thanks, guys....now I want tea!

I love the samples they give at Teavana. I always say I am going to buy it and then I look at the list of the tea they use and they always use about 3 different loose teas when they make their samples up. I don't want to buy 3 different teas and try to blend them at home to get that exact taste.

Teavana has a tea maker that looks like a large mug. You just put the tea in, along with sugar if you want and pour in the water. Let it steep for about 5 min (for black teas) and put it on top of a LARGE mug and the tea strains out through the bottom into your mug....perfect. Just dump out the tea leaves. I bought one there and love it, but wanted one for at work also, and Adagio makes the same one.....for $19 you get the tea maker and 4 samples (about 1 oz each or so, says it makes 10 cups, but I got about 6 with the tea maker, since it is 16 oz of liquid).

I will try the sites mentioned above to see if they have anything different.

What I liked about adagio, was the samples, since you can order them for usually $2 each. Comes in a cute little tin.
--I guess I need to make a cup of tea now, since I am thinking about it. :thumbsup2

Another vote for Twinings, but make sure that you order their British teas. "American" tea are cut too much and it's more of a powder than actual pieces (or whole) leaves.

Lipton's pyramid teas are pretty good and have some interesting flavors.

Yes, and in case you need another excuse to go to WDW, the best source of Twinings tea is that little store in the UK at Epcot. It's sponsored by Twinings tea and they even had Mr. Twining (Steve, I think) there, one time.

I'll just have to start working on DH...........maybe I can turn him into a tea drinker :thumbsup2
