Attention Riviera Haters

We just watched a video of it and no hating here! I love the French theme and am looking forward to a visit one day!

The rooms available for points is related to the number of points sold. Less points sold = less rooms available on points, more points sold = more rooms available on points.

Haters have no impact on your availability to book through DVC.

Owning for 19 years? Most long time owners understand how the system works.

Well, your post title certainly seems to be looking to provoke some interesting conversation! But the truth is, with all the resorts in the Disney portfolio, owners are going to have their favorites and the least favorites - probably based on taste, preference, location, and experience. I'm not a fan of the Riviera for a couple reasons, so we're not planning to buy there or stay there. That doesn't mean I hate it. And for the record, our absolute favorite DVC location is AKL - and we have very good friends who would never stay there! Different strokes for different folks! I hope the Riviera owners have an amazing experience for decades to come!

Actually, its related to how much DVC has declared into the Condominium Association (the point you make is indirectly tied to that) But if Disney declares 100 % and sells 0 points, all the rooms are available (hypothetically of course). Unless I have this wrong. Right now DRR is somewhere in the teens as far as percent sold, but probably 20-25 percent declared

No one resort is for everyone and over time things change, I went from not wanting to own to loving it.

IMO, no one resort is better than the other one. It is all about what one wants and needs, and then you can decide which one is better for that, Context is important.

People love AKV. I don’t. People love BWV, I think it’s okay but not my favorite anymore, now that there is RIV.

VGF and BLT remain high on my list of places to stay to visit MK. RIV and BCV will be top choices for ease to Epcot,

Why I split stay!

Cant agree more Sandisw! We used to stay at BLT exclusively, then "slept" around a bit. Now it seems RIV is our go-to given our current interests in EP/HS with all the investment in those parks. But BLT will always hold a special place and will be our go-to for MK visits. I'm going to have to check out this "split-stay" thing!!!

I just love it. Now that we bought RIV, and DH doesn’t go as much he gave me the green light to sell our 2nd BWV contract so that I can replace it with either BLT or VGF! Yeah!

May I ask what makes you want to sell BWV?

My resort can beat up your resort!

WHy create a new name to post. DVC since 2001,

first post today.....

hmmmmm......

And no, I wont search the threads, because the only opinion about any resort that matters to me is my own.

TROLL

No trolling here. And my four resorts can beat up your resort.

So the fewer people booking rooms there do not affect my ability to get a room? That’s the way it worked for me for the last 19 years.

Now that I own RIV, and we owned BWV more for DH than me..it makes sense to sell and rebuy an MK area resort,

We bought originally for ease to F & W, and it was cheaper than BCV. But, Stays at RIV will take its place!

This way, Ill have 175 at RIV, about 150 to 175 at BLT or VGF, and then 500 SSR to sleep around!

Is there any one “bad” resort? I don’t think so. Lots of options for lots of tastes. Needs change with every trip for us. I say try them all at least once so you know what each has to offer. I detested BWV our first cash stay. We gave it a second try a few years back and loved it! Just be happy for the ability to enjoy something pretty wonderful. It’s more than brick & mortars. It’s the memories we make with our loved ones.

Seems an overly defensive post? We have had to put up with SSR, AKL etc ‘haters’ for years.
Riviera is a divisive resort with many loving it, it seems, and many not liking it and being disappointed. So you are bound to see more critical posts on Riviera than, say, Beach Club Or Copper Creek. This will continue as there has not been such an opinion dividing resort since Saratoga.
