What type of foundation do you wear in the humidity. I won't be putting a full face on, but I at least need a little something to even out my complexion. Au naturale is NOT an option. I want something that feels light on my face, especially in the humidity.

I use Clinique duo face powder all year long, even to Disney.

I always wear MAC - hands down, the best make-up I have ever used. A little bit more expensive, but well worth the money.

What's MAC?

I wear Mary Kay Creme To Powder Foundation. Hides a lot of flaws and evens out the skin.

I also use the Mary Kay cream foundation, works great! And it has a built in SPF, so no worry about getting a sunburn. :thumbsup2

Bare Minerals...once you try it you'll never look back. :thumbsup2 It looks way better than that goey liquid stuff, especially in the summer. Revlon and other companies are jumping on the mineral makeup bandwagon too, so it must be big competition for them.

Is bare minerals the makeup that I see on Home Shopping Channel sometimes? Is it sold in any stores. I normally where Clinique super balanced foundation.

Yes - it's available through QVC, but you can also buy it from bareminerals.com. I don't think they sell them in any stores, but it ships fast and one jar lasts quite a while. I think QVC.com has the best prices, and it comes with a kabuki (sp?) brush.

how do you know what color or shade you are without trying it out first?

It's very easily blendable - you could be a shade or two off, but when it goes on your face it blends right in - that's what they tell you at least.
Luckily my sister bought it before me, so I just tried hers and then chose my shade from there.

Bare Minerals for me....at Sephora.com. Finding the right shade is always trial & error but check out the color swatches online. My best tip is if I need my foundation to be alittle warmer (like the difference between winter & summer here in the northeast) I add alittle warmth to the foundation, mix & apply. LOVE IT!!! :thumbsup2

I am a Bare Minerals convert...I will never go back to wearing a heavy liquid foundation. Besides getting Bare Minerals online or at Ultra you can find it in Nordstroms. Once you find your color you will become another convert. :thumbsup2

Bare Minerals is getting easier and easier to find. The mall now has an exclusive Bare Minerals shop, and I have seen other malls with kiosks selling it, they sell it in a shop at the Galleria that sells multiple beauty products. BUT here is my take on Bare Minerals...
I had the girl in the shop apply the make-up for me so I could see how it looks after wearing it for several hours. My skin is VERY oily. After wearing it for awhile it looks EXACTLY the same as the Clinique Work-Out make up I usually wear. :confused3 I just couldn't see purchasing a whole new line of product that in the end looks PRECISELY like what I already own.

The drag queens I know wear extremely heavy make-up that does NOT wear well in the heat. I have been in the Pride Parade the past few years and the queens all look very melted after sitting in the Texas September sun for an hour or two. ;)

I buy Bare Minerals in Ulta stores here in Texas...
I buy it at Ulta too. The staff there will help you pick the right color. My oldest DD and I use the lightest Fair color - the colors they have on their infomercials and from QVC don't come that light. I think they have 3 choices, but the bare minerals site and stores that sell it have (I think) 6.

I use MAC Studio Fix which is a powder base. Use it all year long. Yes, even in WDW in September. I have a MAC store near me but you might be able to find them at some Macy's or MAC.com.

Must admit though that with all the Bare Minerals talk I am tempted. Next trip to Ulta maybe...

I have tried many, many, many foundations, drugstore, department store, cosmetic stores, etc. My skin is very sensitive, so I can't have just anything or I'll break out and I have uneven skin tone, so I need good coverage, none of this lightweight stuff. For about six months, I was wearing Mabelline Matte Foundation, but it was too flaky, by the end of the day, it looked like my face was peeling off, and as a result my skin was getting very dry. So 2 months ago, I tried Mabelline New York Age-Rewind Foundation. I thought, I don't need age-rewind, I'm still in my 20s, but I knew it had moisture and that's what I needed, so I bought it. It is great, I have finally found my foundation, after all these years! It comes in a glass bottle and I apply it with my fingers and it just glides right on, no clumping in spots. A liitle bit goes a long way, It keeps your skin feeling soft all day. It completely covers and isn't heavy at all. It also has SPF 18 in it. I buy it all Wal-mart for about $5.69.
