Attention Borrowing Experts...Question

I have a June use year at BCV. I have used up all my 2007 points I have used most of 2008 points but I have enough for a vacation in a studio in Sept. I'd like to go to Disney at any resort for a short stay before May 31. Can I borrow 2009 points to pay for my Sept vacation which frees up my 2008 points to be borrowed into 2007 for a vacation prior to 5/31?

You are allowed to borrow 2009 points for a vacation that falls within your 2008 use year (which runs from 6/1/2008 - 5/31/2009).

The only time you can borrow is when you are actually making the reservation that needs the borrowed points. MS may insist that you use up all the 2008 points before allowing you to borrow.

If that happens and you don't want to argue or ask for a Supervisor, you may need to make a "temporary reservation" that falls within your 2008 use year before you make the reservation that will use the borrowed points. Once the reservation that uses borrowed points is made, you can cancel the "temporary" one and the 2008 points will be returned to your account. At that time, you can borrow them or bank them (subject to your banking deadline).

Thanks for the info. I have a reservation that uses 104 points leaving 7 points unused in 2008. I called MS to ask if hypothetically I could borrow 104 points from 2009 to 2008 and reallocate those points (it's my home resort so the 11 month/7 month rule is not an issue)to the existing reservation and free up my 104 points and put them back in the 2008 account. Then, use the newly freed 2008 points and borrow into 2007 for my reservation by the end of May. She said I cannot borrow any 2009 points until June 1 even if its for a reservation in 2008. I didn't think that sounded right. I thought I couldn't use my 2009 points for my 2007 reservation but as long as I within legal booking windows, I could borrow from 2009 for a 2008 reservation. Since we don't have exact dates worked out, it wasn't worth disputing. When I do, I may do it the way you suggest to avoid any todo with MS.
