Attention all MNSSHPers

Well, I was home to get my phone call from Eric from the MK Executive Offices. We spoke for almost 10 mins and he answered every question that I had
.

Ok, sorry to write the book I did, but wrote all my questions ( & his answers) down so that I'd remember everything. I'm going to check my notes again & see if I forgot to put something here.

Thanks. Did you question him on refunds? We will also be at the 09/15 party

Just wanted to tell ya' that a message from a CM was on my machine when I got home tonight. She said how glad she was I e-mailed my concerns blah blah blah and that they are going to clear the park for the MNSSHP as usual. People will have on their wristbands and be escourted to a land in the park for a show during the clearing of the park.(It sounds like the same info that you got, goofy4tink) She assured me that all is well for the party.

I think enough e-mails were read and that WDW will do an excellent job clearing MK. When I get back on October 3, I will e-mail them to tell them so
People are quick to send the negative, but I fell WDW also needs to hear the positive!!

I to am going in October and have been the two previous years. Things went pretty well and at most times never had a problem. The only congestion I came across was during the parade but was able to get decent seats. I never looked at other wristbands but really wasn't aware of non-ticket buyers being in the park. I always enjoyed going to MK during MNSSHP as it always seemed less crowded during this event compared to going during the day. I found I could get twice as much done during this party than before plus all of the extra benefits. I always found that song they play during the fireworks very catchy.

I am planning on going again this year but find that if there is an over abuse of non ticket people in the event and that the park is way too crowded to the point that my family doesn't enjoy it, meaning very long lines, no seats for the parade, and the trick or treating lines are painful I wouldn't hesitate contacting Disney for a refund. I think that people should play it by ear but if there are valid reasons for disapproval then ask for a refund based on valid reasons. Maybe someone could speak to the Exec offices and get a phone number that can be called for complaints or requests for refunds. Again, for only valid reasons and not just so you could get money back.

Hey I got an idea...if WDW is willing to give away an hour of a hard ticket event for free then MAYBE they can give the people that actually PAID to be there an EXTRA hour! They could leave the park open to 1 AM!
I'm on board with the "prime real estate" property on Main Street, GREAT idea!
THANKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :bounce:

MK now officially closes at 7:00p per their website. They are just going to upset the day guests who think they have another hour.

I totally agree. If they do decide to close at 6pm, while I think that would be great, I think they need to make that decision and *publish* those hours very, very soon. We'll do our first MK day on Fri 27th, the day of an MNSSHP party. If it's closing at 7, we'll take an afternoon break and come back from 4.30 to 7. If it's closing at 6, we won't take a break, we'll just stay til 3 and leave for the day so this extra hour makes quite a difference to day guests. *If* the published closing time remains as "7pm" but they just decide to tell guests that it's actually closing at 6 when they arrive I can see many day guests being justifiably annoyed.

The other thing is, many day guests who stay past 7pm will be doing absolutely nothing wrong. Provided you join an attraction line before 7, even if it's 6.59, Disney policy allows you to stay in line and ride/see the attraction so it could well be 7.45 before many guests *legitimately* exit the park.

I'm guessing the first hour is going to be mayhem! I guess in reality the party hours are 8 to midnight.

I have to say that being brought to Tommarow Land or Frontier Land was NO BIG DEAL. Plus, I think seeing them "change" the park will make the party loose a bit of magic.

Exactly.

I sent another e-mail tonight. This time I mentioned also the fact that they were no longer going to be including the photos. Another huge dissapointment.

Does anyone know if there will be photopass people there? I know that there isn't going to be a free pic (that really does stink) but will there at least be photopass to take pics? I really want a family photo but feel weird asking total strangers to use our camera...paranoia I guess.

She said there would be some form of entertainment for the ticket holders, and then the party would begin. She also stated quite firmly that there would be no 'party' type entertainment on Main St. until the day guests were all out. That it wasn't going to be a situation where the party was starting at 7, while day people were leaving.

this situation sounds extremely chaotic to me, and not very well thought out. Not everyone that attends the party enters the Magic Kingdom early. Many of the guests either choose not to, or simply don't know that option is available. So at 7:00pm, the park is closing and someone is escorting the day guests, someone else is ushering the party people to another part of the park for entertainment, and others are welcoming the party guests.

They are shortening the party, more or less, for those in attendance... if the party doesn't begin until the day guests are gone. Higher ticket costs and shorter hours? no thanks.

Awe, no free pictures this year? That was always a highlight for us... I hadn't heard THAT. :(

Don't worry Schlepsnort... Since we'll be there the same night, we'll just have to plan a meet up point and take pictures of each other's families... are your boys gonna wear those cowboy hats? They look so cute. :) pirate:

Well "this site" isn't the official Disney World website...and it's already been confirmed by WDW that there will not be a free picture.

For me it's not even so much about the "others" being in the park...which does concern me...but even more than that...they advertised this as a 7PM-Midnight party...now what...the "real" party starts at 7:30PM (or whatever time they get them all out of the park) and we are all stuck in one land DURING the party until Disney gets it's "housekeeping" (party decorations up, day guests out, CM's in costume, candy stations set up,etc) done? That makes me " :furious: ". I didn't pay all that money (we have a party of 5 going) to have them herd us like cattle DURING the stated party hours....when they did it between park close and party opening it was understandable...but now part of my paid party time will be spent waiting for them to clear the areas and get everything set. I was unsure of the changes before, but now I am unhappy and that is a hard thing to do as far as me and anything Disney. Now it really does feel like bait and switch...

And one last question I want answered (so I will email on this)...won't day guests (who paid for their day ticket) be able to get in line up until closing time (which is allowed all other days) and if so, then how long will we be kept waiting for them to clear out??!!

GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!

Sorry for the rant, it may not have helped anything, but just typing it brought me a bit of comfort. ;)

That said, I don't forsee buying party tickets in the future if I cannot trust what is advertised is what I will be getting. That is really sad.

I have a question I hope someone can answer or can report when they get back from MNSSHP. I'm just going to the MNSSHP event and I have heard you can get in a 4pm for dinner reservations. I am planning on making reservations for dinner and hoping I can get in for dinner. Also, at this time...if people are let in around 4:00pm...will we be able to go on rides before 7pm just with the MNSSHP tickets? Thanks!

FairyTaleBride--That was what I was told, that if you only have a ticket to MNSSHP, you will be allowed in starting at 4PM. GL making ressies, we called a few weeks back & most places were pretty booked. We originally were going to Tony's but decided to switch to the Plaza & took the latest lunch ressie we could get.

HTH!

When I spoke with the CM yesterday, this was one of my specific questions & he said it would not occur this way. He stated that one of the reasons they are changing the policy is the fact that a number of guests voiced complaints at having to stay in one area for that hour in between so that they are not going to handle things in that manner.

My next questions was "So during the time that CMs will be policing the crowds for those without wristbands, the rides in all the different areas of the park will be open?" and he said emphatically "yes, along with all the food/beverage locations."

Just passing along what was told to me.

May I try to be the voice of reason here? Why is it that we choose to take the answers we 'like' and to refute the ones we don't like? If Disney is telling us they have a plan in place to make things work, then I am going to trust that they do. If, when I get there, I find that their plan is a joke, believe me, I'll be on the internet sites ranting and raving with the best of them!!! Disney will no longer get my 'hard ticket event' money, and I'll be sure to let everyone I see know about it!!! Word of mouth is an incredible tool.
So.....yes, we all know that Disney allows people to get in line right up to park closing. However, where is it written that they will continue that for those party nights? Sure, I can see them allowing people to stay in line, but I was assured that CMs would be clearing the park at 7:00. Also that CMs would be checking wristbands at character greetings, food areas, trick or treat stations, attractions. If they see someone walking down Main St., headed for TomorrowLand at 7:05, they will be stopped and told to leave the park. What more can I ask. Sure, it would be terrific if they closed at 6:00, but evidently that isn't going to happen. I guess we'll just have to see how they handle it.
I can only imagine the uproar come the end of Sept if Disney doesn't get it right for those early parties! They have heard our complaints, lets give them the benefit of the doubt. Of course, that's easy for me to say....I don't get there until Oct 21, rather than Sept 21!!

I don't know who exactly you are referring to in the first bolded part, I was passing along the information exactly as I received from the phone call yesterday.

And yes, it is easy for you to say because you won't be the first group that gets to be the guinea pigs. But my family will so if I want to question what will occur, and yes, be concerned, I think I'm entitled to my opinion.

I do think you (and the rest of us) have every right to be concerned. I think it is a very expensive event and Disney should have their facts straight months in advance.

Perhaps $130 is not alot to some of you. To my family it is alot we work very hard to save for this trip and the MNSSHP is a splurge for us. Some families plan months in advance with ADR s and costumes...all that is not cheap. At this time, I am not sure we will spend our hard earned money on this.

I feel disappointed in Disney in regard to this issue. :sad2:
I am very frustrated and quite frankly, confused as to why Disney doesn't have it together on this one. Perhaps there is someone new in charge of these type of events or maybe it boils down to more $$$$. I just do not get it!!! :confused3

I say come on people...be consistent-know the facts-make us feel you do care. Respond to our emails and phone calls already!!!! :furious:
