Attention all April 4th, 2009 friends:o)

Well, we did a Wonder SB cruise last year. It was fantastic (except for the day I forgot to take my Bromine and spent an active night in the cabin)! At the time DH said, "Okay, maybe in a few years we'll go back." But . . . this week when DCL released the Florida rates and we could book a 7 night for LESS (!!) than our 4 night last year, we were in!! pixiedust:

I've already sent the rates to about a dozen friends and relatives, encouraging them to book, too.

Here we are: me, DH, little princess (7), and little Indy (6). Last cruise, he was all about Jack Sparrow, but his loyalties shifted during the year to Indiana Jones, so I'm hoping to find some archeaology-related stuff to do in Grand Cayman/Cozumel :) It's going to be a complete surprise for the kids. How fun :cheer2:

Very excitedly counting down the days!!!!

I booked the Dolphinaris kids excursion in Cozumel and the Atlantis Semi-Sub in Grand Cayman directly through their websites and saved quite a bit, too. In the case of the dolphin excursion, it was about $40 cheaper per child. I know that a lot of people like to book with DCL for piece of mind, but the savings are considerable--leaving more money to buy stuff :) Not that I would.:goodvibes

Those Florida resident discounts were a pleasant suprise, especially for Spring Break time! Looks like this has become a more active site all of the sudden.

:beach:

Add us to this cruise.

Will be me, dh, dd14, dd12, dd7, dd6, ds 6.

We booked with Florida Resident Rates today and it was slim pickings other than guarantee categories.

Best we could get was two side by side cat 11s on deck 6. Managed to get 6pm dining so I am happy about that. My two college girls have a different spring break so they won't be joining us.

Excellent price. Think this is our 12th Disney cruise? Not sure, last one was Western in November. First time ever without balconies, but we are happy to be on the ship for such a great price!

We are about 30 minutes from port so will drive over that morning.

Hope to meet some fellow Dis board members :)

Jeanne

count us in! we were just back from the 1/17 Eastern when they released this great rate! Too amazing to turn down! Got an extra cruiss year! :cheer2: This will be our 2nd time on the Magic, with 4 on the Wonder. Me, DH, DS13 and DD10. We'll have a blast!!!!

We booked the Florida Resident rate and are going during our children's spring break. There are 24 of us total.....12 kids, 12 adults. This will be my family's 7th Disney cruise (1-4N, 3-3N, 1-7N Western, 1-7N Eastern). I'm excited. The Western Cruise was by far my favorite!

This cruise is starting to fill up fast! I think thats wonderful. Did everyone get their excursions they wanted? Or are you all holding out for 3rd party booking or waiting for the cruise to decide?

We just finalized our flights and transportation to the port.

We are actually flying in on the 3rd from Newark to Orlando, renting a car and staying at the Farfield Inn near the airport. We are then going to drop the car off and take the shuttle to the port on the 4th. Almost the same plan on the way back, but instead, we are spending a night at the Boardwalk Villas before jetting back to Jersey on the first flight out Easter Sunday morning.

Cannot wait!

We're booking 3rd party for our excursions (I think I posted this above) and had no problem with what we wanted to do.

I got two friends from work and their families to book the cruise as soon as the rates drop--so I guess I'm directly and indirectly responsible for 12 people coming on board: 6 adults and 6 kids :goodvibes It was such a great deal, who could refuse. We're counting down the days--especially since it's in the 20s in FL now.

We are booked for this one also!!! :cool1: Me, DH, DD(14), DS(12) and DS(11). Fl Rates were too good to pass up especially since Spring Break was included. Wish our cat 10 cabins weren't gtys, but hoping they can keep us together. Trying to wait patiently for room assignments. We also have friends coming with their DS(14). Swimming with the dolphins in Cozumel (booked w/DCL).

Welcome Aboard!

We are very anxiously awaiting our assignments as well!

I'm hoping they don't wait until a ful 30 days before...or even worse until we get to the port!

I am late signing up on the Disboards as I waited until I saw the FL resident rates kick in to book. Just couldn't pass up the deal. My sister and I (both single moms) are bringing our all boy pack! Mine (DS16 & DS13) and hers (DS16 & twin DS13) will join us in our 2 rooms with verandahs (our first time with a verandah). We were on a DCL cruise in 2004 but haven't been cruising since. We are avid pin traders too. We are anxious for spring break to get here but since we just booked there is so much to do to prepare and only 8 weeks to do it. But the anticipation is half the fun! ;)

Do any of you like to do the fish extenders? We've done it on the past 2 cruises and it's fun to come back to the room to find a little suprise.

Outside the door of your stateroom is a metal fish, meant for messages. The Fish Extender is somthing that hangs from the fish with multiple pockets so people can leave things like messages, notes, treats, etc for the people in the room. Good to have if your group is headed in multiple directions - just leave a note in it for everyone, letting them know where you are :sail: :fish:

Just to expand...

Folks, like the fine people on Disboards, started also using them for little gifts nightly.

There are severel variations on this. Keep in mind, this is all pre-determined before the cruise starts.

In one variation, each member is designated a day/night in which they travel to each participating cabin, placing little gifts in the fish extender. In other variations, each member does this nightly.

These gifts are small...for example:

glow necklaces and bracelets
chinese finger traps
mickey drinking straws
glow in the dark straws
pirate pencils
princess pencils
note pads
hersheys kisses
all kinds of miniature candy bars
gum
disney post cards
party favor horns your blow
little games you roll the ball through the maze, sold in sets of 12 where they sell party favors.
small rubber duckie for 1 and 2 year olds who cant eat the candies.
football or baseball cards for tween boys in the family.
Mickey wash clothes
small sample size hand lotions
flavored chap sticks
highlighter pens to use to mark your navigator paper
skull rings (pirate night)
eye patches (pirate night)

Thanks for the info on the fish extenders, what a great idea. Consider us in! What fun! Can't wait. I'm on my way to getting an extender.:yay:

Looks like no more FL resident rates are available for this cruise and very few cabins show as available (Cat 7 only) at all on the DCL website!
