Would/Do you go to crops at your LSS by yourself, or only with a friend?

I attend classes there by myself but have only attended a crop once on my own. I felt uncomfortable because it seemed like everyone else had a buddy. I was at a table with the STRANGEST woman I have ever met!

I'm hesitant about this too. I recently moved and will be attending a class, but not sure about crops either. I always took friends to crops before and, while outgoing, the classes I have been to haven't had the most outgoing people in attendance (though very cute projects). I may try another store and do a class there - just to see.

I started going to my LSS alone and now the girls are friends and we have our little group.

I actually met up with some DIS folks at the crops at our LSS and now we try to all crop together every once in a while when our crazy schedules permit!

Which reminds me, calanniebu - we should start talking about a March date!

I never went to a crop until I met some people here that were local. Although once I was on my own at the crop and sat with some nice strangers, I have to admit I'd be a lot less likely to go to a crop alone. I don't have a problem scrapping at home, so I don't think I'd go out to scrap unless I knew someone there.

I used to go to my LSS for crops by myself quite frequently. I got a lot done and most people were friendly enough. It is good to see what other people are doing with their pages and products. I learned lots of new things. Since I got the cricut and better scraproom storage, I usually just work at home. It is too much trouble to pack it all up and I don't want to be without my cricut.

Mrs Charming -- where is your LSS? I go to the Scrapbook Station in Voorhees.

YES! and I'm marking it in BIG RED PEN on my calendar. My DH is actually starting to feel bad for me ... he keeps asking if I want to go to a crop. He doesn't' get that I only want to go when I *know* people I want to see will be there! My first crop was with DIS folks too!

The closest one to me now is The Crop Room in Hatfield, PA. I used to go to the Scrapbook Station when I lived in Marlton.

Maybe we can meet for crop down there one day!

This thread reminded me to call my LSS to see if the crew is going tomorrow night, and they are, so THANKS! Maybe I can get my Disney album done....

I do both-go by myself and with friends. I do get alot more scrapping done when I'm by myself LOL. It's fun to have a girls night out too.

I never crop with anyone I know because none of my friends scrapbook. I go to crops by myself all the time and I spend a little time chatting but I also plug in my Ipod and go into my scrap zone to work. Sometimes I just need a change of scenery to jumpstart my creativity.

I used to go to crops by myself. I've gone to a few with my eldest that were "Mommy and Me" ones. But now that I have my own scraproom, I don't find myself wanting to go as often. Unless they have some really cool giveaway, I don't see me going again soon.

I attend 1 at our local (45 min) Michaels and had fun- I didn't know anyone but they keep it small (4-6 people). I had a great time and got a lot done. I would like to go back again. The hardest part is that it is on Sunday afternoons and generally I have youth group and can't attend.

If you want to feel all alone imagine what it's like going to a crop when you're a guy! Our CM rep set a goal of getting at least three guys in the group by the end of the year, didn't happen, I was still the only one.

I am all digital now but it would still be fun to go to a crop. Maybe I can talk a couple other guys into going with me. Right... :rotfl:

I went to crops when I lived in SCAL with a couple of friends there, but haven't been to one since I moved to NCAL. I do scrap with a friend sometimes when our schedules permit, we were trying for once a month, but its not happening, so just do it on my own.

We have a crop coming up in May as a band fundraiser. I don't think I can post a link, but if anyone is interested (and lives in the Toms River, NJ area), let me know. :)

I used to only go with friends but moved here 2.5 years ago and don't have any friends who scrap, so now I go to my CMC's crops alone. I've met some nice people, everyone is sweet even though we don't have much in common (they all have kids and most work at the same company). I have one friend who wants to get into scrapbooking so I'll probably take her to a crop and see if she gets into it. I have a craft room now so I do a lot at home and I get more done on my own, but it's fun to get out and talk to fellow scrappers :chat:

This is where I crop, too! Small world!

I used to go to crops alone at my LSS all the time - I don't have a "group" - most of the women who attended were a good bit younger than me - but I never felt lonely - the chat was usually general or there were simultaneous conversations going on.

That being said, I just attended one at the Scrappy Boutique in Orlando and it wasn't like that at all - everyone sat with their own little group and made no effort to involve anyone else - the person assigned to share my table never showed up, and my overtures to start conversations with the others were met with single sentence answers, so I eventually gave up. I won't go back there to crop again.
