I'm a WDW vet but have never been to DL. I am attending a convention in early Feb. at the Anaheim convention center and need hotel and general DL info. I will be solo for the convention and won't have a rental car so I need a hotel that is accessable to both the convo center and DL. I would like to take a day to visit DL after my convention (I know not nearly enough time) and am unsure if I will have time in the evening to go to DTD or the parks. Any info right now would be a big help. Thanks.

Really depends on how much $$ you want to spend on the hotel.Darn near 'all' the hotels are within walking distance,so the biggest choice will be amenities.:confused3

I'd stick with one of the hotels right in front of the convention center (Hilton or Marriott, plus others) and then take the shuttle over to DL. You could walk, but if you are alone it is quick and cheap to hop on a shuttle (either the hotel shuttle or ART) and get dropped off at the DL front door. Those two are still close enough to walk back should you not want to wait for a shuttle, but IMHO it's a long walk.

You could also stay at any of the 3 DL hotels, it is a short walk up Disneyland Drive to get to the CC.

There are some good links in this thread, especially Bret's lodging link:

Here is some more info you might find handy:

Thanks! I feel like a fish out of water trying to plan this trip.
