On our recent visit (8/14-8/30), we strived to do things we had never done before. One thing that we did for the first time was attend a DVC presentation. We have no intention of buying DVC as it is way, way too expensive, but I was willing to give them an hour of my time to learn more about it. Besides, they were going to give us each a $15 Disney gift card ($45 total for the 3 of us) and free ice cream. Sounded good to us.
We did the tour at Saratoga Springs. It was totally relaxed, no pressure, no hard sales tactics, etc. Just the facts, gave us the tour, explained how the system works and answered any questions we had. It was actually very enjoyable. I know a lot of people who are DVC owners but this really gave me more info about how everything really works.
If you find yourself with an hour or two to kill, consider doing this. You'll get something worthwhile in return plus you get to see some nice rooms.
