Attendance DOWN at WDW?

Thank you for clarifying.

I may disagree with a lot of choices TDO is making, but I still love the parks themselves. I also have appreciated a lot of the decisions that TDA has made of late, which is part of why our trips have been to Disneyland lately. Disneyland has always had a special place in my heart (and always will), as it is the Disney park I most remember from growing up.

Please don't mistake my criticism of TWDC choices as a lack of love for the parks. That couldn't be further from the truth.
Points totally taken, and I will remember that!! :)

DL was the first park I visited. I had been DYING to go, but it was not the kind of thing we could afford when I was younger. At 14yo I went for the first time -- totally fell in love!!! While WDW is now our "home park" because of proximity, my FAVORITE "land" is still New Orleans Square. It was AWESOME to be there again last Jan for the SW half -- first time in probably 12-ish yrs for me -- first visit EVER for my kids. LOVED IT. :)

I think it's EPCOT and DHS, that they aren't pulling their share of planned folks their way yet. So MK seems -- and probably is -- much more crowded because those parks aren't getting as many visitors.

There are 30,000 resort rooms on property, functioning at 93 percent. That means at any given time there are 93,000 people staying on site. If two (and maybe three) of the parks are losing attendance (and why wouldn't they) you can have the MK seeing record crowds and see the overall attendance drop.

That would be my guess. That and Brazil.

The articles regarding the earnings call yesteady placed hotel occupancy at 88%.

Obviously that's still quite good, and I'm not suggesting otherwise :)

I noticed that too. Still quite high, but a drop for sure. Will be interested to see what next quarter brings... does this become a trend, or is it an anomaly... hmmm...
