Attempted Home Break In!

So sorry you're having to deal with this while your partner is away, but I wanted you to know you're an inspiration to me...I get annoyed at having to turn the alarm on when I leave (sometimes the magnets don't connect and it accidentally goes off, freaking out the cat, the dog, DD and me). After reading your post, I'll be setting ours for sure now. DH always sets it. It's just the few times when I leave.

I guess since we're paying for it, we should use it!

Thanks, and hope all is well.

You know, we live in such a quiet neighborhood.....and we have retired neighbors that are nosy, so I didn't think that the alarm system was something that we would ever actually need, but since it was already installed and Gabby is super paranoid because her home was robbed twice when she was a little kid, I was ok with using it, but I have never felt like it was a "have to" kind of thing.

I live in a sleep little part of Lawrenceville, GA. How bad could it be?!?! Well, I got my answer today.

ADT will be armed as usual when we leave the house and before bed each night. Thank God it's there! Maggie

VERY good news!!!! :thumbsup2

Isn't the internet an AWESOME place? You can get help instantly from people you've never met. :)

Our perp kicked our door in too. Amazing how big those boot prints look when they're flat on your door?

Hang in there.

Yep, that is one big boot print. I am doing ok. I am just trying really hard to wind down. There has been a little too much adrenaline in my day. lol Maggie

Maggie I'm sorry, I knew that you were family, but I thought you were male instead of female. Oops :guilty:

I'm happy to hear that you got your door fixed though. :thumbsup2

Well I had the REAL thing on June 12th! We have lived in our home for nearly 11 years and have NEVER EVER had a problem. Well some idiots took our recycling bin and propped it up against my house and climbed into a closed (unfortunately unlocked) window and into the den. This knucklehead stole my kids' GameCube and all of the games, my dh's PlayStation 2 and most of the games, and both kids' Game Boys and the games. Oh and the bums ransacked my bedroom looking for money, I guess. Thankfully they did not get my dh's digital camera, which still holds our pictures from our last Disney vacation, nor any of the computers.

The police were very nice and prompt. They did a thorough search of the house and fingerprinted. They really didn't get any good prints though. We had ADT install an alarm later that week.

I felt so violated! Who the he** gives you the right to break into MY HOME and steal MY children's things. :furious:

Okay, I got that off of my chest. To the OP, I'm sorry that this happened to you.

mickeysaver!! I'm so glad you're okay! If we had to depend on my co worker.. who JUST got me the name of the guy who fixed his door.. you'd be living on the street!

I know Lawrenceville, I don't live far from you, nice, quiet neighborhood. Doesn't matter, the nicest neighbors can be raising Satan's spawn... :furious:... who have nothing to do but look for unoccupied homes.
