Just got back from a few days at Disney and was attacked by stroller after stroller. My ankles have cuts and bruises all over them from the stroller ramming its way into them. I wish Disney would make a route for strollers only. That way those of us without children can enjoy a walk through the kingdom with out getting bruised and slammed into by parents pushing these evil things around. At least they could apologize after they draw blood. I especially think those adults pushing the stroller around without kids but using it for their packages should be thrown out.

:hug:I am sorry you were injured, and I too have been, but I also take care, and use a stroller at Disney! I am young, and disabled, and feel unready for a walker, so I use a stroller, but I can assure you that I lack the ability to hit anyone in the ankles with it! I think you are right to be enraged by selfish behaviors by people on vacation, but condeming all stroller users isn't right either!

People who text and walk wthout looking are hazzards all the time, and could use a lane, kids running toward characters are a hazzard, etc....I hope we all can be more careful and considerate, knowind that EVERYONE is there to have a good experience!

:flower3:

Pople like yourself are fine. You seem you look out for others and take care not to harm anyone. But there are those who don't care and feel, because I push my kids around in this stroller, have the right-a-way. Sometimes I feel invisible. I also agree with you about the texters. I witnessed someone texting once and they never looked up at all. They ended up tripping over a little child that ran right in front of them, phone went flying a good 6 to 7 feet in the air before hitting the ground with a loud craaaack. They hit the ground as well. They got up, retrieved their phone and started yelling at the parents for not taking care of their child. Inconsiderate towards others. But for those that really need the use of a stroller due to difficulties that is different.

I don't mind getting hit by strollers when it's accidental. They weigh like 5 lbs. What I watch out for are the scooters. I had a "Fast and Furious" experience once when a granny almost mowed me down in her ECV! Ever since then whenever I hear the hum of those little motors I keep my head on a swivel.

Gotta learn to move faster! It's dynamic Darwinism, and they help you sharpen your skill set. Kind of like dodging the potholes when you're driving, except the potholes are moving.

We're in blackout now for FL Resident annual seasonal passes, and it's a good thing. I stay out of the parks when the frantic family migration is in full swing.

So sorry you were hurt. The other things that really makes me so mad, are the jogging strollers that they insist on taking on the buses---sometimes doubles! There was actually a lady carrying an infant with the DOUBLE JOGGING stroller and she stayed in the front of the bus and completely blocked the aisle. Another one took up 3 seats with theirs. What ever happened to people using umbrella strollers. Our kids all did fine in those, or renting Disney strollers. Be a little more considerate, people.

Our last trip to the world (week after Thanksgiving) the stollers were awful.
Even more annoying was that it seemed that all of the stollers doing damage to our feet and ankles were inhabited by what looked like 6 and 7 year olds.

I would just like there to be one day a week at each park that is stroller free.

Actually this weekend while we were at Saratoga Springs Resort, quite a few families had those humongous strollers as they got on the bus. And one lady actually did like you said and blocked the isle. No one could get around her and when asked to please go to the back so others could come in, her response was, tough, first come, first served! Then another guy parked his in the handicap doorway. He didn't even bother to close the darn thing up. I was just waiting for one of those sharp Disney Bus turns just to see him and the stroller go flying out of the bus. And it would be his fault too, because there is a sticker that says do not park your stroller near the door. Some people are just plain foolish. My wife calls it no walking around sense!

I have to agree with all . Last year at the Magic Kingdom I thought I'd seen it all , on the 4th of July I watched two couples rent the double strollers and not one of the kids got in . What I saw next was down rite rude . They walked up by the Castle parked the strollers on the curb spread out some blankets and all took turns coming and going waiting for the parade and fireworks :confused3 I think people need to be a little more considerate after all we are all there for the fun and magic .

Awe, no seasonal pass for me. . .I like to go whenever the mood strikes. . .

Are you headed to the Northwest this year anytime soon?

Completely agree, OP, and I understand it can't always be helped, but some people use the strollers as props to push you out of the way and get ahead of you. I love it when they let the 2 year old push the stroller through the crowded park - that's always a great idea!

I seem to get the worst stroller beatings while standing waiting. Kids playing on their stroller ram into you & bounce off the back of you. Parents totally oblivious or enthralled by little darlings cuteness. Keep repeating over & over.

I agree the motorized scooters have to be watched as well. Those things are zippy!

I too get hit by strollers all the time while visiting DL. Last Friday while at the opening of Star Tours and Ariel's Undersea Adventure some lady who was not familiar with DL scooters ran into me hard. She not only hit me but the person behind me as well. The worst part is that she continued to press the accelerator so after I got hit she continued to ram me and I had to hold the scooter back from running into anyone else. Get this, no apology for running into me or the other person behind me.

Strollers are one thing but I think Disney needs to rein in the use of the scooters, maybe require a doctors letter or something. Some people need them but some people don't & just use them to not walk. Our last trip my husband got ran over TWICE by two different people, neither stopped to say sorry & my poor little girl was almost taken out by a man on one, it was crowded & he wasn't paying attention to what he was doing (assuming) & was using as a means to make people move, I yelled & yelled, he never stopped, I had to physically yank my child up & away before he stopped, looked at us, then continued. :scared1:So Stupid!

I'd be ready to fight if someone rammed me in the back of the heels and didn't say anything. I'd be going off! And then to do it repeatedly? no way, It'd be getting real up there yeah! :crutches: if there wasn't any kids in thee then that stroller would be in the air. just sayin.

Totally agree. DH was commenting on our last trip how strollers have become the size of Cadillac's! Also almost got run over by an ECV coming down the hill from the exit of TOT when Fantasmic was letting out. She could have waited until it cleared out, but insisted on almost plowing me and another person over. :scared1:

This must be a bad problem at WDW. I had a friend that just got back from WDW a couple of weeks ago and I asked her how she liked her vacation and the very first thing she mentioned was the back of her husbands' ankles being cut up from people running into him with their stollers! It's one thing for your own family to run over you with a stroller or a shopping cart but a stranger?!!! How rude. People need to pay attention and be much more respectful or other's space. I would be appalled if I ran into anyone because I wasn't watching where I was going.

I think DH has nightmares about MK. Think about the area back in Fantasyland on a typical busy day. It's wall to wall strollers, getting through there is like navigating a minefield. I've learned to limit his exposure or he starts getting really cranky.

Also, we really try to avoid taking buses. It's very rare to get a bus anymore that doesn't need to take the time to load one or two ECVs. After waiting for the bus, waiting longer for that makes me cranky.

Haven't gotten run over by one yet, but it's probably just a matter of time. Which will be ironic, because I have a syndrome that makes it really tough for me to walk a lot. Hope I don't have to eat my words one day, but no ECV for me.
