Is this the main, most recent thread for Reflections/WL permit speculations?
So, are we assuming they announce Reflections at D23? Or no b/c they want the focus to be on Poly Tower? It seems much more certain now that the main news worthy patent, the 18 new builds from WDI is actually Reflections over by River Country. The addresses were very confusing. One of the structures will be a tower hotel. One is pool services, one is also probably a restaurant. A few more could be outdoor structures and we may still see those stilted cabins, but they might actually contain themselves for once and build like 12 of them. The random Timberline address may just be for construction crew offices or staging etc.
The other permit is just a CCV refurb most likely, but much less likely on CCV2 room conversion given the other patent seems to not be related to Wilderness lodge at all. The patent is still a bit unusually long, so there could be a bit more meat to a lobby or restaurant refurb tied in there. But Nothing new is being built for Wilderness lodge. No more cabins. No new tower.
Also pointed elsewhere, we usually see a water permit filed and it was weird this didn't include one. But in actuality the original Reflections SFWD permit was extended and is still valid.
Probably about the same length. A big time suck of clearing and doing foundation work has already been done on the site. They did quite a bit really, made a new road and moved the horse stable to the current location as part of it. They poured footers (think thats that right term for em) as well. If they dont have to do much if anything with that aspect, could be quicker maybe? We're just over 2 years since the ground was cleared for the Poly tower....will [the resort formally known as Reflections] be built quicker or slower?
Curious for other's opening date predictions....
I don't see them wanting to focus on Poly Tower...there's nothing "D23" like or sexy to be announced anymore. Simple on-sale date for DVC and opening of DVC reservations may be at most a short toss in mention. Full announcement and details about Reflections coming back is much more in line with the sort of thing they like to get coverage of at D23.So, are we assuming they announce Reflections at D23? Or no b/c they want the focus to be on Poly Tower?
I'm most interested in what Reflections might do to CCV resale. I've seen the mockups, so I know it's a different vibe, but it's also the same in some ways IMO. Will it cause CCV to drop even more b/c people will want new/shiny? Also assuming it's in the new Trust, will that drive more people to possibly buy direct there to have access to future new Trust products? Too many questions I know we can't answer yet.
I hope CCV resale drops big time!!So, are we assuming they announce Reflections at D23? Or no b/c they want the focus to be on Poly Tower?

...for a Possible!Anything is possible!!
This is new Disney so it'll definitely be a similar boxy tower that will look like any other Marriott you see around the country.I hope CCV resale drops big time!!
I’m wondering what the theme would be for the new reflections, watching videos on what the original plan was it looked an awful lot like the new Poly tower, so I think they would have to go another route. They could still do frames and/or cabin types but the theming would need some serious changes.
As long as the new resort is as desirable as those resorts are, you should be right. But then the owners at the new resort have to swap out in order for anyone to swap in, so where will they want to go? To the Crescent Lake and monorail resorts!I don’t plan to buy this or Poly but I am a fan of any new construction since I have convinced myself that it will result in more availability in the Crescent Lake and monorail resorts.
Higher dues if they can’t sell all the points snd don’t have cash bookings to offset?I'm all for converting Wilderness Lodge into a DVC property completely. I bought a small CCV contract and find it very difficult to get studio's even at 11 month booking window. I would appreciate some additional inventory for all the points tied up with the Cascade Cabins.
What would be the negatives if Disney made all Deluxe Resorts DVC conversions completely?

I know we’ve moved on to Reflections of Reflections, but I understand that, at least pre-Covid, WL had the highest occupancy of the deluxes.Wilderness lodge occupancy must be quite poor.
I’m curious - why do you say that?I was 100% convinced Reflections was back on the table this past winter, and these new permits only confirm it for me. We'll see Reflections rolled into the trust with the Cabins at Fort Wilderness. That will be it for the trust as no further DVC resorts will be rolled into it. The trust lives and dies with the Cabins at Fort Wilderness and Reflections.
