ATM's on board and cash

My family is taking our first disney cruise on June 7, 2003 and are unsure how much cash we should bring and if there is an ATM on board the Disney Magic. We called Disney but they were not sure. Can anyone help out.....Thanks.

Hi and welcome to the DIS!

The Disney ships are "cashless" with all purchases being applied to your Key To The World Card. There are no ATM's on board the ships, but you can find them in the Ports of call, except for Disney's Castaway Cay island.

You'll only need cash for the ports, you can't use it anywhere on board. That is unless you want to leave your tips in cash, then bring that along. We usually bring about $300 with us for the ports. If we need anymore, there are always cash machines on the island. On Castaway Cay, you use your KTTW card, just like on board.

You can carry travelers checks and cash them at the customer services desk. We have done this on our past two cruises.
