We've cruised Disney numerous times & are scheduled for April 17th 3 day cruise. Normally, we've travelled when we have friends staying at Atlantis, so we get wrist bands through them in order to use the pools (or, we've booked a cheap room at the Comfort Suites).

For a change, we've considered doing the Blue Lagoon thing. Is it worth it? We live in Florida & can snorkle/dive any time, so I don't know if our kids will be thrilled, compared to the Atlantis. Any suggestions? Thanks!

We went on the blue lagoon excursion last year and are going again on this cruise. We found it to be very peaceful and had fun on the beach and snorkeling. For those who do not snorkel often, this was very nice for our first time. I'm not sure how thrilled you might be if this is something you do all the time. It is far from being spectacular, just nice. The lunch is good. Some people like it and others do not. Some people have said that they think it is dirty. I didn't think so.

It sounds like the Atlantis pools and slides are alot of fun. I'd love to try it someday however, for our group it is a little expensive.

If you do go, take along drinks as the punch was horrible!! Also some snacks and definitely order some cookies from room service. I'm pretty sure there wasn't anything desert-like.

Another option is the Blue Lagoon Dolphin encounter if you haven't done this before. I have but it might be something different. I believe after the dolphin encounter, you get to enjoy the island. Also, I believe there is a stingray encounter on this island as well.

Have fun!!

Do Atlantis. But tell me, whats the secret to getting Atlantis wristband by way of your friends staying there? Did y'all just go up to the wristband /towel booth near the front of the pool and said we're in room # 5537 ( friends room)? And did they try to charge friend extra at checkout or no? Also, hows bout at the comfort suites. Lets say your family of 4 is in room 588 in comfort Suites, and lets say , hypothetically, you have a family of 4 cousins also on cruise that takes a taxi to meet you there, but they aren't getting a room there. Your family of 4 gets 4 Atlantis wristbands, Can cousins family of 4 hypothetically say at the Atlantis towel booth they are in room 588 Comfort Suites and also get Atlantis wristbands? Hypothetically , of course. Also, at Atlantis , is there more than one booth to get wristbands upon entering the pool area? Hypothetically, if you get 2 room keys, can each family of 4 carry one and obtain Atlantis wristbands for their own family of 4, when only one family of 4 is hypothetically staying there, hypothetically.?

That's a lot of hypotheticals! As I recall, when we had friends staying at Atlantis, we used their room key at the towel booth. All the attendant did was look at the key and give us bands (i.e., no one wrote down or even asked the room mumber; they're quite busy).

I've never had friends stay at Comfort Suites; we've just booked room ourselves. We advised the reservationist that we wouldn't be using the room, since we were just going to Atlantis. They waived the housekeeping fee plus some other fees. We had calculated the cost of doing some excursion to Atlantis thru Disney, but getting room was cheaper & easier.

A few times we've just gone up the beach and gotten onto the pool decks with ease, but if any employees notice you don't have a wrist band, they'll make you leave. (once we were told to leave, another time we stayed all day unoticed but worried about being caught!)

Whatever, thanks for the input! We'll probably do Atlantis (somehow) again!

We've actually visited their pool the same as you last time, and weren't asked to leave. But this time we have Comfort Suites ressie. Question: if we tell reservationist we won't be using room, thus saving some fees, will they give us room keys by which to obtain Atlantis writbands, and also would we get these wristbands at Atlantis or Comfort Suites ?

As I recall they gave us a card or something (at Comfort Suites) which we took to Atlantis for our wristbands (at the towel area). We never got a room key only because we didn't want one. Otherwise, we got everything at Atlantis which we would have gotten by getting a room at either Atlantis or Comfort Suites (i.e., freedom to run around anywhere at Atlantis, towels, dig site, etc.).

I probably made this sound confusing - did I answer your question?
