Does anyone know if we would have to purchase a day pass just to walk around to see the casino and maybe grab a bite to eat? Not interested in the pools or aquarium so wasn't sure if people can just walk around freely or not.

The casino is open to the general public for free, as is the Marina Village shopping and dining area, but the outdoor areas with pools and aquarium attractions are only for people with passes. The lobby of the Royal Towers is also for hotel guests/pass holders only as well...at those doors you're directed to a side entrance of the casino.

As to grabbing a bite, at lunch time many of the dining venues will be closed, but a few good ones will be open. I really like Todd English's Olives and Virgil's Real BBQ.There's a pizza by the slice place and a Quiznos in the Marina Village. At the ferry/water taxi dock, there's also a Margaritaville.
