I thought my fellow DVCers would find this very interesting, as we wait for the Point Chart to come out for Atlantis.

My co-worker wanted to visit Atlantis in May 2005. She did alot of checking and said there was nothing available in ALL of May! So I offered to contact my travel service (CITITRAVEL) to check for her, because surely something was available.

Well, I was on the phone for 30 minutes, while he checked ANY available dates in 2005. He came back with availability in December 2004 or August 2005! Every month until then was booked solid.

I knew it was popular, but I had no idea!

He did have availability at the Comfort Inn & Suites which allows access to Atlantis amenities but the price for the 4 day pkg Comfort Inn was $200 cheaper than the 4 day pkg Atlantis.

For those pricing an Atlantis Vacation (mind you from DFW) the lowest total was $1250 pp at Atlantis and $1050 at Comfort Inn. That was air, RT transfer, taxes and fees.

Was that for all of the hotels at Atlantis, or just for the Harbor... On the internet last week, there was still availability next spring.

This is utter nonsense.

I just did a google search, which took me directly to the main Atlantis site, where one can book directly. It showed plenty of space available in all of October, November and December of this year, into January (right over the New Year's period!). After that, it abruptly showed eveything blocked out, which 99.9% of the time is merely an indication that block space is being held by travel firms (there is no way scores of rooms would be available this year but not anytime next).

I mentioned this on two other threads. The first time, someone told me I must have been mistaken. I questioned it myself, then did another search about a week later, and came up with the same thing. The only availability was late December/New Years, and August of 2005. Everything else was booked solid. It should be interesting to try to get in. Good luck, everyone.

I think there is something wrong. Now keep in mind this was last year...we did a girls weekend. We booked it in May/June for Sept. We had plenty of choices for Sept/Oct. We decided to go with the Comfort Suites...however, up until our dates there was tons of room. I think the Atlantis has not put out all the 2005 rates.

Maybe they are blocking out rooms for all us DVC members.

I dont understand it either, but surely they would have released dates for January 2005 and later by now. My co-worker did an internet booking search last week and I contacted my TA today, so that was 2 different sources at different times saying the same thing.

I dont know know many properties make up Atlantis, so I just requested Atlantis of my TA. What iare the different properties?

My opinion is that if they are really that booked, then we can kiss reasonable point charts goodbye for this resort. They definitely don't need the business.

A lot of that time is low time for the Caribbean and Bahama's. I'd guess they just haven't released the units for next year yet for all the times. I find it hard to believe that the entire thing is booked, but you never know.

They have three main hotels, of different statures and price. Additionally they have Harborside, which is there vacation club, and from what U hear practically impossible to get by the general public.

Since Comfort Suits are allowed use of all facilities at the Atlantis, are we allowed to book at Comfort Suits with our points?

And is there a point chart out for the Atlantis yet?, I would love to stay here, stayed on the main island a few years ago and spent the afternoon at the Atlantis, this place is beautiful

thanks

My parents are going again (they go frequently) in January. They have a 'host" (they get to go for free!!) I know they pay for it in the long run cha ching;) Anyways, they are going to Florida in February and thought about going to the Atlantis for a couple nights while down south. When talking to their "host" they were told they can't book anything into February yet...It wasn't in the system. I'm positive they can't be that booked out. They must just release so many rooms at a time.

We love Atlantis! We have stayed there once before and are considering going again in 2005. We are possible interested in paying part cash and part points. I was concerned that we would not be able to book this after this post and called today. The reservation person at Atlantis said that they currently have lots of availability and I was able to get a quote for June. Hopefully they will still have availability once we get the point charts from member services.

Maybe they have not released the rooms to TA's yet. My friend still wants to go, so this will be good news to her!

Does anyone know if we will be able to use our points at the Atlantis itself in all the Towers or at the Harborside. We stayed there in 2001 when we still owned Starwood and it was great.

Haborside is a timeshare that has been removed from the DVC trading list. I'm sure it will be the main hotel only.

I just booked Atlantis in November with no problem. I called them directly and even got a package deal.

Atlantis is a resort on Paradise Island - right next to Nassau in the Bahamas.

A very NICE resort - often featured on the travel channel - with incredible amenities. A casino, amazing pool, and incredible aquarium. Non-resort guests have to purchase passes just to visit parts of the property.

It was recently added as an option in our Concierge Collection Resorts.

Here is the number I called...

800-285-2684

Hope this helps!

As an owner at Harborside, it's interesting to see you DVCers commenting on how tricky it is to get into it. There's me finding it tricky to exchange into BWV - the other side of the coin!

I'm off to Disney in October (weather permitting), so will take another DVC tour. Wonder whether I can resist the enormous temptation to buy...I *really* like the DVC properties.
