Was wondering if someone could help......I have a 12 year and a 6 year old...the 6 year old will probably not meet the 48 inch height restrictions on water slides at Atlantis...We where going to book a day room at Comfort Suites (thanks to these boards), however, we want to make sure there is going to be enough to do for our 6 year old...can anyone tell me what there is to do for a 6 year old as well as, what time do you usually end of getting over to Atlantis once off ship....and while I am at it....is 4 or 5 hours enough time to enjoy the slides and sights?????????please any help!!!!!!!

There are still slides available for kids under 48" although not many. There is an area on the other side of the "pyramid" that is geared more for smaller kids. Atlantis is a huge resort, if you were willing to walk a good distance to the other side of the property there is also a "lazy river". My then 4 yo. DD still loved "The Dig" ,the huge sting ray and the sharks in the aquarium etc. Atlantis also offers a dolphin experience but we have not tried that yet. We will be going back the resort during our 3 day cruise on 9/30 and learned about the use of the Comfort Suite from this board. Hope you have a good time.

There is also a lagoon area where you can rent snorkling equipment and paddle boats. Not the best snorkling ever, but it is interesting. Of course there is the beach area, big pools, lazy river, some small slides, parasailing, etc. The big dig is fun to walk through. I would encourage everyone to load up on breakfast on the ship so that you can just snack at lunch time, as the food is expensive (and in my opinion not that great) at the casual lunch places at the resort.

Thanks for the reply..Can anyone tell me if 4-5 hours is enough time to take it all in.....and what time you will get to Atlantis..thanks

You would have a long day at the pools and beach to relax, swim, perhaps rent water toys. The beach is pretty nice to swim in. There are several restaurants to eat for lunch. There are amazing aquariums to explore. There is an ice cream parlor on the harbor side and a ton of shops...expensive and tourist places. You will have a blast!!

There is more than enough for a littler one to do while there. We just came back and our 6yo who is a couple inches shy of the 48" min...was still able to go on a couple slides. It depended on the lifeguard at the slide entrance. At first...after I went down I thought OMG she is going to be sooo scared and freaked....but to my suprise she came out with the biggest grin...and wanting to run right back up. We took a short taxi ride there and back...and had around 5.5 hour at Atlantis...and that was no where near enough time to do it all. We never even made it over to the beach or to the water floats and float bikes. When we were there Lazy River wasn't up and running...(last week).
