It's almost time for our first trip! My husband is interested in going to Atlantis in Nassau to see the aquariums. I was going to sign up for the Discover Atlantis tour, but have seen some negative comments regarding the ride over on the ferry and the wait times and walking. I have read some reports that say you can get a taxi over to Atlantis and do this on your own, but I was wondering if anyone knew the actual cost to go into the aquarium section? We aren't interested in the water activities since we are going in January, so we don't want to do the beach/water park excursion. I checked the Atlantis website, but couldn't find any rates except room rates. Thanks.

We did Atlantis on our own compared to the arranged tour through DCL. We paid $4 per person for the taxi and the aquarium was $25 per person. I'm glad we went, but I don't think it was worth the $25. It was fun to look around the resort though. If you are thinking of spending some cash in the casino, the slots are stingy.

I wonder, is it less than $25 pp for kids? I'd hate to spend that much money for a 2 year and a 6 year old who may or may not enjoy it.

I don't remember exactly...but our family of four went...priced some things..and ended up getting a day room for only $150. Which after figuring in the cost of the aquarium alone (would have been $100...for our family of four) I didn't think the $150 for everything was that bad. So my point is I don't remember a price break for children. If there was I don't think it was much....our youngest was 6 at the time...I do think like 2 and under were free. (maybe). I'll have to dig out the pamplets and stuff to see if it says in there.

We took the tour a few weeks ago. There was no water taxi, it was a "cab" ( van holding around 20 passengers). We enjoyed the tour and the casino.

We did the Atlantis Beach Day Excursion earlier this month and there is still quite a bit of walking involved once you get out of the van, and this includes crossing a busy street or 2. We ended up taking a taxi back from Atlantis to the port, $12 for 4 people (not as scary as some of the things I had read on the boards). If you have little ones it may be a better idea to get the day room, or at least the wristbands that allow access to the restricted areas - we had to go past the calm water and out to the real beach. Don't get me wrong - I love the real beach, but it would have been nice to have been able to spend some time with my two DSs in the calmer water - sortof like a sandpool we have around here I guess. You are going to have a blast - we just went on our first cruise earlier this month.

We're going again!!! Dec 2006!

We did the Dig tour on our own once, the kids were cheaper, but I don't remember how much. There is a lot of walking on the Dig tour, up and down stairs, too, so keep that in mind for the kids.

we took taxi to Atlantis, $4.00 pp, and spent $25.00pp for the Dig access...IMO, I dont think the $25.00 was worth it...just walking around the grounds of Atlantis, and seeing what you can of the aquarium is very nice....
