Just back from our 4 day Wonder Cruise (2/6/05)....we attempted to get a room at Comfort Suites as several locals told us it would be cheaper. They said it should cost us about $40 less than Atlantis. Upon arriving at the Comfort Suite we inquired at the front desk and were informed that their rooms were $283! We continued on to Atlantis and found their rooms are now $200 per day. I inquired about a $150 room and was told that they no longer had that rate. I felt like I was being taken advantage of but they didn't budge on the rate. I unwillingly paid it. So be prepared and inquire ahead of time if planning this excursion.

Thanks for the heads-up.

We were thinking about trying to get a day room at Atlantis in May. But if it's $200 instead of $150 I think we'll pass.

I didn't take cruise to Atlantis but went for the weekend with my family. My boys 7 & 10 loved it. If you can afford it I would say go to Atlantis. They had such a great time on the water slides. Also looking at all of the fish around. Just odn't plan on eating much there. Food is really expensive! Take food with you in a cooler. Hope you have a great time whatever you choose!

We reserved rooms at the Comfort Suites for $164 per room through the following site - link

I also found this map online that shows where the Comfort Suites is in relation to the Atlantis Resort. map

We also had a horrible experience at the Comfort Suites in January when trying to get a dayroom....with our family of five they wanted over $400 for a a room!!! Well, they actually said they do not do day rooms and only nightly rooms and with 5 in our family we would need 2 rooms!!!

Went to Atlantis and had trouble there as well...we were also told they absolute do not do day rooms at all. I poliety said that I knew differently but they wouldn't budge....we just found a public access path and enjoyed the beach on our own.

So do you think access to all that is Atlantis was worth the money for the day room? We went in Sept but did not have access to anything other than the casino, and I was not impressed. We are going again this Sept and I am wondering if I should give it another chance, but this time with access.

We went to Atlantis and got a day room in Sept...We had a WONDERFUL time...Loved it. Only downfall was...time went by to fast.

Anyway...I don't think Comfort suites does "day rooms"...But normally their nightly rate is less than the day rate at Atlantis...I could be wrong...but that's what I understood.

At Atlantis..they have a number of "Towers" and each tower has it's own lobby. I don't beleive ALL the towers do day rooms. So depending on what lobby you went to...may depend on if they were telling you the truth. We went to the main lobby as you enter the main entrance...and got the same responce "We do NOT do day rooms", "but you may wish to try ===Tower".

The rates for the day rooms will vary depending what time of year you go. I would think the day rate for May would be even higher than $200 so be prepaired. We went in Sept and the rate was $150....but all travel costs in that area is lower at that time period due to hurricane season.

But again...we had a GREAT time and would do it all over in a heart beat.

Wooooo-Hoooo! Thanks for this information. I followed your link above and booked a room for $128!! I already had one booked for $185, so I cancelled that one and booked the $128--you saved us $56!! :cool1:

We got a day room in the Coral Towers (called in the am from the ship) on 2/7. The price was $200 (tax included). We were close proximity to all the pools & aquarium. The only problem was we had 5 in our party & you only get 4 wristbands. I thought someone said you got 5. They did let my MIL into the pool area & the Dig. She just couldn't get a towel or use the slides.

But the kids had an absolute blast with all the slides & the aquarium (they are older 9 & 12). My personal opinion, you should see the Atlantis at least once in your lifetime. The grounds are beautiful - it's very hard to describe. But it cost us way more than $200 - the taxi each way was $25 (incl. tip) & the phone call from the ship was $62 (they had me on hold forever trying to figure out what to do about the 5th person). So it did cost close to $300 for the day. But I feel if we would have taken Disney's excursion at $60 per person, we would not been able to use the pools & that was the highlight of the trip. Especially since it was standing room only in the Disney's pools especially on sea day.

Awesome! Do something fun with the $56.

I just checked our date and it is $164 - did you do anything special for the $128 or is it just the dates? Thanks

I had thought the only did 4 wristband per room...but not to long ago I also saw where someone mentioned they did 5 wristbands for day rooms at Atlantis. We never checked when we were there seeing we only have 4 in our family...but it's nice to know for the future.

I agree the grounds of atlantis are beautiful...and should be see if you have the chance.

I just used the link given by 1stNoel and followed the directions (something about putting in small organization where it asked if you had any discounts, not sure, check the site) and sure enough, I got a great price!
