I was looking at the Disney excursions - $68 for the atlantis beach day - and then $33 for the other Atlantis excursion that I think is just getting into see the dig..I know if you "go on your own" it is a $25 admission to the resort for the Dig. I know you don't get access to the waterpark - but with that $25 - do you get access to the beach? I don';t care about the lunch voucher and the reserved beach chair with the Disney one - but was wondering if the $25 guests could use the beach in addition to seeing the dig

Thanks!

No, the $25 ($19 for kids) does not get you admission to the beach. You can walk around the property- they give you a wrist band to wear - but access to the beach and pools is not permitted. Buy your Dig tickets in the center of the Casino - You will see a big blue-green globe over the kiosk. I wish that I had asked for a map of the property. We had to keep asking directions.

We took a taxi over to Atlantis and back - dropped you right off at the front door - no 15 minute walk from the water taxi terminal as on the Disney Excursion. You don't get a guided tour either when you do it on your own, unless you happen to "tag along" with a tour group. The taxi costs $ 4 pp each way + tip.

It was a few dollars more to "do it on our own".

Atlantis was over-rated. Yes, the resort was beautiful, the fish tanks and the dig were nice - but not as great as described. I had more fun at the Baltimore Aquarium - they at least had a dolphin show ( and for a lot less $$$ ). Even SeaWorld was better.

I think that both excursions include the cost of the water taxi - you could "do" the beach day and purchase your own admission to the Dig. Also, the water taxi is $ 6 pp round trip if you want to do that on your own.

Have done the Disney excursion and it does include the water taxi, lunch, a small walking tour of Atlantis and the beach. It does not include the dig, water slides, etc. My kids wanted the water slides and access to everything Atlantis SO we booked a room at the Comfort Suites across the street (about $300 with all the taxes and fees). Didn't buy lunch as we took food off the boat in my bag (I packed ziplock bags). There is a free public beach on Paradise Island (there have been posts about this) and people say it's great. The water taxi's or land taxi's will cost $4-$5 per person each way. Good luck with your decision.

Thanks - can't decide if it's worth it to go over to Atlantis or just do a public beach for a little while and go back to the ship. I have a feeling if we go there, the pools and slides will be too tempting...
