Atlantis Aquaventure Excursion Question

Just booked and paid for upcoming spring break 4 day Dream cruise. Went to book Aquaventure - The Atlantis excursion where we know that you wait in a long line in the theatre. Then you queue up outside the ship - then another long line to board taxis - aggravating, but for us, really the only thing we are interested in doing.

Here is the problem - the first open slot was 9:45AM. Not sure if this was because it is all that is left or because that is the earliest start time. So lets get this right - we are going to queue up starting 9:45AM and probably not get there until close to 11 but then turn right around and come back at 2:45? All this for $190?

So are questions are: Should we find another way to Atlantis? Should we ignore the "queue arrival time" in the theatre and just be the first in line?

Thanks in advance

We did the dolphin encounter with aquaventure and there were just aquaventure people with us. we meet in an other place not a theater they gave us some stickers we left the ship and walked a little to buses they put us on the buses and we were off. When we got there we followed the guide to the towels and then we were on our own. I will say we definitely Didn't have enough time to do a lot after the swim. I think we met at 9 got there by 930.

Good advice on the dolphin except that we already swam with the dolphins in Mexico. Would like to do that but are hestitant about $200 pp for 3 hours at the place.. Might start another thread and see if we shouldn't just stay onboard.....

Where do you get the 2:45 time? Is that when the excursion says it finishes? Also, the excursion itself should tell you an approximation of the total time, and an approximation of how long you will have at the location. If anything, these times are a bit of an underestimate. The total time is usually longer than advertised.

There could be another time for the excursion that is sold out, but usually you can still see that time, you just can't book it.

As for the arrival time, I can tell you that if your excursion says that it starts at 9:45, there isn't much point in arriving before say, 9:30. They queue up and the designated times, and then get out of there pretty fast. You'll be off the ship by 10:00 if not sooner, but then of course there is the travel time to the place.

The excursion end time says 2:45PM that might be the last bus. Bottom line is this - whether or not we go with the official cruise tour, we don't want to get there late. Last year, we had to queue in the theater, then outside, then there was a delay boarding the busses, so for us, I think transit time from line outside theater to walking in was over an hour....
