Has anyone here attempted Atlantis with a wheelchair? Is this something that might be easier than going downtown? Do you take a boat or bus or both? :confused3

Thanks

I did Atlantis while on a Holland America cruise as HAL, unlike DCL, will go out of their way to find accessible transport to the destination....That said, there were a few problems I had that you may want to avoid. There are many sets of stairs at Atlantis and in order to get around them you have to take the corresponding elevators, which are key-operated to keep the kids from using them as carnival rides. If you take the DCL-sponsored excursion the tour guide will have the key...If you go on your own you have to hunt around for the "key" person. To get to Pleasure Island from the ship you can take a taxi...there are vans doing taxi work that will accommodate a wheelchair or electric scooter...or you can take the water taxi...I got left behind on Pleasure Island because the water taxi refused to take me back to the ship...I'd avoid the water taxi ....long story...Other than the stairs, Atlantis is quite doable if you have a muscular pusher for the 'chair...There's a LOT of ground to cover there!
