According to Delta's website, Delta Connection carriers board via stairs.

I found out that they board via jetway at Quad Cities airport.

Can anyone please tell me if Atlantic Southwest boards via stairs or jetway in Atlanta?

Really depends on space and weather. Chances are, you will end up at a gate, as this is the most economical means of deplaning an aircraft. The airline will only have you deplane via a stair when there are no jetways at an airport (exotic locations) or there are no empty gates.

At last check ASA boards via stairs. YOu are at a gate, but the gates in Atlanta have not been fitted with jetways that work on the small planes flown by ASA There are plans to change that, but I have no idea how that is going.... I would assume stairs for these planes...

I am flying a CRJ out of ATL to Corpus Christi in May. As long as I get there safe and sound to win some money at the USBC Open Championships, all is good! This will be my first experience with ATL, so it will be interesting. I will be flying through there in October again, so this layover will give me a chance to scope it out since we have a 30-40 minute quick change in October.

It may depend on the model of the plane. Some of the larger regionals can work with jetways, the smaller ones are too close to the ground, especially prop planes.

Thank you for the replies. :)

We'll just assume that we'll be using stairs, and if it ends up being a jetway, that would be great.

Anyone know about stairs for Comair CRJ's in Cinci? Last time I visited, I flew NWA JetAirlink and they were opperating out of a jetway...just curious

Comair in Cincinnati is stairs on/off the plane - and the dedicated Comair terminal is actually at ground level. it's set up as a big square with gates around the sides. If you are transferring to/from a regular Delta flight you will need to go to another terminal.

Otherwise, my experience with CRJ's has been gathering in a regular gate, thinking you get a jetway, but then walking down a set of stairs and out to the plane, then up the stairs onto the plane.

I've flown on an even smaller regional jet with American and used a jetway, so it must be something about the CRJ that is different.

In Nashville the Comair CRJ's board via the jetway... I think the big difference is the jetway type. They can't all accomdate every plane type.
