Atlantic Dance Hall/Pleasure Island ??

When we go, my brother will have his 23rd BDay. He has never been to WDW, aside from the time that he went when we were kids. At that time, he was only 4 so that doesn't count, because he remembers nothing of the trip.

The night of his BDay, we planned to go to either Pleasure Island or the Atlantic Dance hall. I haven't been to either place, except in passing. I thought that Pleasure Island would have been a great place to take him. If we were home we probably would have gone out at night, and then he probably would have gone to a 'club' with his friends that night anyways. So, we want to take him out and show him that WDW is not just a "kiddie place" - like he thinks. That being said:

Has anyone been to Atlantic Dance Hall? How was it? What kind of music did they play there? Do they sell drinks too? How much does it cost to get in?

With the recent changes in Pleasure Island to being changed to a more "Family Friendly" (with little kids running around at all hours of the night), Is it still just as good as it was before? How is the club atmosphere there vs. the atlantic dance hall?

which would you prefer??

Atlantic Dance is VERY hit and miss. But because the place is so big, even when there are people there, it doesn't seem crowded which translates into it not seeming like a cool place.

I would go to Pleasure Island.

Jellyrolls on the Boardwalk is fun on Tuesday nights when it is Cast Member night. Very happening and crowded. Get there early......

I have yet to see more than half a dozen people in Atlantic Dance Hall--this is in three weekend visits in the past couple months. It is free, tho. And, yes, they do sell drinks.

I still recommend PI. While not as crowded as it once was, inside the clubs are pretty much like they always were--not that family-friendly. Actually, besides the comedy clubs, most are 18+.
