The nicest hotels are in the marina area - Borgata, Harrah's, and the Golden Nugget. On the Boardwalk Caesar's and Tropicana are probably your best bet. I'm sure Revel is nice too but I haven't been there yet.

I have stayed at Harrahs several times, thought the rooms where beautiful and the bathrooms wonderful. We always eat breakfast there and it is delish.
We like to go to the outlets, and Ruth's Chris has a great Happy Hour.
FYI we never set foot in the gaming floors when we visit LOL,
Also the comedy show at the Borgata is great, and very reasonable.

What was it that you didn't care for about Harrah's ?

The room that we had was not that clean and there was a duct tape holding a tile in place in the shower. Towels were old. The furniture and rug were old.

The casino itself shows it's age and they have taken out most of the machines that use to hit (this would matter if you play slots ).

Unless they have redone all of the rooms and casino, I would not stay there again.

If anyone wants to check out the different casinos, just tell the parking attendant and they will give you a parking pass so you don't have to pay again at a different place.

If you are considering Borgata, then book their Water Club property. It shares the same casino. The Water Club has a gorgeous outdoor pool as well as a beautiful indoor pool with 2 hot tubs. You cannot use the Water Club pools unless you stay there. Also, you can relax at the Borgata library regardless of which hotel you book. Just show your room pass and you have a very comfortable lounge that looks out onto the casino floor. Internet access is free in the lounge. Around the corner is the new Borgata bakery as well as Starbucks. It's a great place to have morning coffee.
