OMG OMG OMG I do not believe what I just did! I am BIG Madonna fan! I saw the last 2 tours and have vowed to see her whenever she tours. So when she announced a tour this year I was stoked! BUT then Atlanta was not on her tour schedule! I was ticked! I have been moping and fretting about it since APRIL. Even going so far as to check EBAY ticket prices and airfare! Only dreaming! Well this evening a found a flight that goes directly from Columbus to Atlantic City for a decent price. I booked it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am going I am going I am going! Now to get a ticker and figure out where to stay and how to get from airport to hotel etc etc!!! HELP?!?!?! Any locals that can offer advice? Once I pay for the airfare and the ticket I will be watching my pennies. She will be at the Boardwalk Hall. Are there safe hotels withing walking distance? I would really appreciate some help here.

Keep in mind that it's not exactly close from the airport to the actual strip. The cab fare is about $25. I'm not sure where the Boardwalk hotel is but I can offer hotel advice. We stayed at the Sands hotel. It's across the street from the boardwalk strip but has a moving escalator so you don't have to cross traffic or anything. Because it was off the strip, it was much less then hotels on the strip. It wasn't as deluxe as the other ones but it was a step up from a Motel for a good price. It was clean and the rooms were nice. It is a casino hotel so it's loud in the casino areas but most of them are anyway. They have a 24 hour cafe with DELICIOUS food.

I hope you enjoy your trip and enjoy Madonna, i'd love to see her in concert!

The closest hotel to Boardwalk Hall is Trump Plaza...as a matter of fact, Boardwalk Hall has an entrance right off of Trump Plaza's casino floor so you wouldn't even need to go outside. If not Trump Plaza try Caesars, it's right nextdoor.

Be aware, summer is the busiest time of year here in AC. Depsite having thousands of rooms, they do go fast and can be expensive especially on a weekend.

If you need any help or advice, please feel free to PM me..I live in Ventnor which is the next town over from AC and I work at the Atlantic City Hilton.

Soooo..considering that Boardwalk Hall is so far from the airport would you say I would be better off to go with a car rental? I am just simply looking for convience without breaking the bank. I wont get in until about 630 on Sat night. The concert os Sunday the 16th, and then I have a very early flight out on Monday morning.
anewvance, the Sands sounds like what I am looking for. Something clean and safe.

Mr Mouse since you know the area well, maybe you can tell me.
Does Trump or Ceasars offer comp airport transportation?

Don't know about Atlantic City... Do know Madonna's concert ROCKED!!!!!!! I went to her 4th and final show in Chicago last night and it was great!!!!!!

I would look on a map and see where if you chose the Sands, where it is compared to the Boardwalk Hotel but if it's close to Trumps, it's an easy and quick walk on the boardwalk. With that said, I probably would stick to a taxi to and from the airport because parking along the strip can probably get expensive in itself and with the concert and everything else you need being so close to the hotel, you really don't need the rental car.... we were there the same length you were and definately didn't need one.

Trump and Caesars only offer transport for their players. I believe a one way cab fare to the city is a flat rate of $27. As for the rental car, I don't think it'll be necessary. There are little blue busses called Jitneys on Pacific Ave. that are $2 per trip and will take you anywhere you need to go in the city. (Different busses go to different places). Also there is a max amout cabs can charge you in the city which is $11 no matter where in the city you go.

Since you are arriving on a Saturday, I would suggest booking your hotel like yesterday! LOL Saturdays always sell out in AC. Sands is one of the cheaper places to stay. You can easily walk to Boardwalk Hall on the boardwalk.

ONe other ?? please? I have a players club card at Imperial Palace, Beau Rivage and the Grand in Biloxi. Are any of these casinos sister casinos with any of the AC casinos? I think the Beau Riavage is managed by MGM if I can remember the card right, and II *think* but not I remember reading other casinos on the backs of cards that my players card wold be good at. I have misplaced my cards for now and havent had time to call...

To Mr. Mouse...we love the Hilton! We'll be there next week for 2 nights and again in July. I hope the beach bar is open!

to OP: enjoy the concert...I would love to see Madonna!
