Atlantic bubble Re-opening April 19!

Press conference coming this afternoon on CBC News (NB) at 3:30. Last week (?) they also said that they will look at starting to reopen NB to the rest of Canada in May/June.

Good news! I would be THRILLED if the Atlantic provinces were open to the rest of Canada without a quarantine before this summer. Not counting on it at all but it would be wonderful if they were.

As someone who lives in the Atlantic provinces, I'm quite happy for that restriction to stay in place. Almost all our cases are travel related so keeping the lid on that is what's allowed us to live a semi-normal life over the past few months. I know it sucks for those of you outside of the bubble who have family here though.

I'm excited about the bubble because it shows progress again in managing our case count but ultimately I don't think it's going to impact our life that much. We'll probably continue to stick to NS - we camp and trying to book campsites months out that might end up unreachable if the bubble pops is not so exciting to me.

Here's hoping the cases stay low and the bubble opens as anticipated. We have a cottage on the Amherst Shore in NS and we would certainly like to be able to get away as soon as possible, even for a weekend !

I LOVE the Amherst Shore/Northumberland Shore. You're so lucky to have property there! My dream is to own a cottage in Malagash/Brule but they are $$$. If you need a caretaker let me know LOL
