We are planning to spend 3 or 4 days in July at a beach prior to Orlando. We have been to both the Atlantic ( Cocoa Beach) and the Gulf ( Clearwater). We have 2 teens, one that loves the waves and one that is scared to go in water for fear of sea creatures. So my question is: What beach would you pick on the Atlantic coast with some waves and also for accomidations we would like to stay on the beach in hotel or condo keeping it to under $140.00/night. We don't mind driving about 1 hr in either direction from Cocoa beach but probably not further than that unless it is really worth it. Maybe Cocoa beach is best? Just not sure of any other areas as we have never been. Reason for not going back to Gulf side is no waves for son. TIA

anyone? Has anyone been to West Palm Beach? I know it is a little farther but looks nice.

New Smyrna Beach and Satellite Beach are also very nice. More condos/ hotels at New Smyrna. We've seen lots of Jellies, etc. at Cocoa, not so much at the other two.

How about St Augustine compared to Cocoa beach? Just noticed they have a swim with the dolphins there. Has anyone been? TIA

St. Augustine is awesome, a great historic area to visit if you've never been!
