I just want to say "THANKS" to BridgetBordeaux for posting these announcements. Her postings helped us choose the fastest route to and from the world on our trip last month.

Being stuck in an Atlanta traffic jam caused by construction, gives one an entirely new perspective on the term gridlock and will drive one to strong drink. Her notices are very helpful in choosing to charge through the heart of Atlanta on I-75 or take one of the more roundabout routes on 285. The Georgia Navigator site has the same information but often you have to know the various exit numbers in order to select the best route.

Funny thing is.................most of the rain fizzled out here and so the roads have been mostly dry.

We saw the traffic backup northbound while we were travelling south on the 3rd and had planned on the bypass. We heard on XM traffic that the paving had been cancelled due to the rain that we never did see travelling home Saturday. Thanks for the information, it makes a difference in several hours of travel.

A word for the wise, if travelling north through downtown Atlanta next weekend, find an alternate route. You have been warned.
