Can you Atlanta area Dis members recommend an area for overnight stay PASS Atlanta. Somewhere off 285 WEST or 75 S!! If not a specific Hotel a town name will do so I can search for good rates. Thank you in advance!!!!

You could try Stockbridge or McDonough...both are off 1-75, South of Atlanta.

Or ... if you're not tired, you could try Macon.

I would recommend Macon if you are stopping there on the weekend. If it's during the week I would try to stop south of there, only because of any rush hours.

How far is Macon from Atlanta we are traveling from St. Louis

There is a website listing what's on all the exits on I-75. You might make use of that. I'll be making this drive for the first (from Atlanta) in three weeks. But having gone to Hilton Head I could see why you'd want to get to or past Macon before stopping.

I like AmericanSuites - they also have in Stockbridge - a Shoney Inn, Motel 6, Best Western

Macon from the north side of Atlanta where I live is 2 hours. The outer edges. I live in alpharetta/off 400. Coming done 75 that is going to be the Kennesaw area. I drive down all the time due to that being my home state. ::MickeyMo

Exit HWY. 138 in Stockbridge of I-75 S. I think it's Exit #228. There's a Comfort Inn, Hampton Inn, Days Inn, and I think there's also a LaQuinta Inn. You should turn left onto Hwy. 138. Three of the hotels are located behind the Chick-fil-A restaurant - there are alot a places to eat around there and a Wal-mart a little further down if you needed to pick up a few things.

Also, it usually takes my family about 45 minutes to travel to Macon but we live just a little further south.

We just stayed at the Holiday Inn Express in Cordele, which is just south of Macon off of I75. They have an indoor pool and the room was very nice! Our rate was $69 plus tax. They had a free hot continental breakfast (cheese omelet and biscuits and gravy, anyway!) as well as the usual cereal and muffins. We would definately stay there again. We live in Metro Detroit so it was 15 hours from home for us.

While driving south on I-75 you won't actually need to go all the way into Macon on I-75 as you probably want to take the I-475 cutoff. There are several hotels along 475 (which may still be considered Macon) which are easy on/off.

I live in Locust Grove, GA. and I drive to Macon a couple of times a month, ( I love the Mall!) it takes me about 35-45 minutes to get there. I always take the I-475 bypass, which will take you "around" Macon so you can miss the traffic. We have a couple of hotels here in Locust Grove, however we are a small town. I would recommend driving on to Macon and making your stop there. There is a Tanger Outlet Mall in Locust Grove as well, it is right on I-75 South, you can't miss it. Only drawback to the outlet mall.........there is nothing Disney there.
