Atlanta Area Family Dining Recommendations

Our family is going to be spending a few days in Atlanta in a couple of weeks. We've been there once before so I know what attractions we're interested in seeing but I'd love a few recommendations for some interesting family friendly restaurants. My husband and I will be with our two teenage sons (16 & 13) so we're not looking for fine dining, just good food.

Any ideas?

Ok I'll bite where are you staying in Atlanta? It is huge after all. If downtown then you should go to the Varisty. While the food is greasy it is wonderful. Hotdogs, Hamburgers, and fries. If you are going to be East of Atlanta you can find any chain you want. Most of the mom and pop places have closed down. Tell me what area of Atlanta and I will find some of the better ones for you.

We're actually not staying right in the city but south of it in the Stockbridge area. I don't need to have restaurants near there though. We'll be doing a number of things throughout the area. I really don't expect to do much but sleep and eat breakfast at the hotel!

I'd heard about the Varsity and I do think we'll try to go there. I think I'd seen it on either the Food Network or the Travel Channel. Last time we visited, we ate at Fat Matt's and also had a meal at Maggiano's. (That's a chain, I know now but we have none around us so it was new to us.)

How about the Cheesecake Factory? Yum! There is one at Perimeter Mall, but I believe there is another location downtown.

There was a really good Chinese place in Jonesboro on 19-41 in the Kroger Shopping plaza. We ate there about 10 years ago, so I'm not sure if it's still there...but it was AWESOME.

Taco Mac...there are several locations all around Atlanta. It's a sports pub that is very family friendly and the wings are the best I've ever had

The Varsity for a little Atlanta tradition. The Spaghetti Factory downtown near the Fox is really good and cheap too. Maggiano's is good too. Pappadeaux's is good also.
