atlanta airport transfer

I think I just answered another of your questions.
As for ATL, if you are staying on the same airline, it is generally simple. There are 4 or 5 horizontal concourses connected by an underground tram system. If there is no change of airline, the connecting flight is usually in the same concourse. Ask the gate agent for connecting gate info or look at the monitors. Every now & again, the gate info will change, so check again at the gate. This happened to me on Northwest at the old Detroit airport. Got sent to the wrong gate & missed my flight (their fault).
I think Delta has 2 concourses, so that might mean taking the tram to another, also easy to do.

Get familiar with the airport:

The day before your flight, check the web or call the airline to find out what gates your flights are scheduled to arrive and depart from (subject to change of course). That way you'll have a pretty good idea of what you need to do.

I think that it would be easy for someone unfamiliar to get around the airport, but I'm biased since I've been in it so many times.

I find Atlanta airport very easy to get around in.

You can either walk or take the train between the terminals. I've never had a problem getting between terminals very quickly. If you're able to walk just don't be afraid to do so if the train looks really packed.

If this is related to your other post about air tran - it is very easy. I have found that at most I had to walk from one end of the same concourse tothe other. I have had to walk only to the next gate. If you have an extremely long layover there is shopping on the "T" concourse and you would not exit the secured area. There is additional shopping on the other side of the security and that is where you can get really messed up. I have known people waiting in that line for 45 minutes or more.
