Question: How much did you lose during induction? I'm wondering how I am doing? Thanks much! :p

Everyone will be VERY different on what they will experience... BUT... the average loss during the 2 week induction period is generally 10% of the total weight loss needed. For instance, a person needing to lose 100 pounds can usually expect to lose 10 lbs during the two week induction.

My personal experience is that I lost 6 lbs during my first two weeks. I had 45 lbs to lose - so I was slightly HIGHER than that average.

I lost 15 pounds during my first induction. I needed to lose about 75 pounds.

Wow 10lbs that's great Congratulations!:Pinkbounc

I didn't weigh myself during induction, just before I started then in 2 month intervals. I did go down one pant size from a 12-10!

Keep up the good work

I lost 13 pounds the first week and 3 pounds the 2nd week. I have at least 60 pounds to lose(but could lose 100 and still be within my range)

Just so you know, there's a reason for averages - for every person who lost 13 there are a few like me who lost 0 lbs on induction! It doesn't mean I'm not a loser and I'm now closing in on my 15 lb clippie. But there are reasons that some people don't have miraculous loss on Atkins. Don't be discouraged whatever happens. You are making the right decision and if you lose 15 lbs or 2 lbs you've made a choice for a healthier, better life from here on!

You're doing great!

My husband only has 38 pounds to lose and has lost 8 pounds in 6 days so far. Much more than 10% for him. But the key here is how his diet was before he started- he probably consumed more than 300 g of carbs a day- possibly up to 500g of carbs a day. He's added no exercise other than mowing the lawn once a week but he has cut out all sugar/bread/sodas which were really his diet before with a little meat and veggies mixed in. So if you've already been doing somewhat low carb or dieting you may not see the big losses some others report.
I've seen this mentioned before and it sticks true to what my husband is experiencing.

I lost 12lbs in 2wks of induction and to reach goal (although I probably need to lose more- just made myself a generous realistic goal for my height/bone structure) I needed to lose 69.5lbs.
I will admit that most of that was probably water weight. I hadn't drank a glass of water in probably 10yrs. No lie. I didn't drink much of ANYTHING actually. I drank maybe a glass of milk per day with a few SIPS of soda. I was constantly getting a glass of soda, taking one drink, letting it sit till it was warm and tossing it. I hardly ever urinated also. LOL So drinking all that water- most of my 2wks induction weightloss was probably water weight. I was probably majorly dehydrated beforehand without even realizing it- or caring. LOL

I lost 8 pounds during induction and 1 pound in the one week since. I have about 100 pounds to lose. At first I was disappointed because of the people who lose twice what I did during induction, but as so many people here pointed out I can't compare myself to other people and I need to be proud of what I accomplish.

I lost 5 pounds the first week, 7 pounds the second week and 6 pounds the third week. I had at least 100 pounds to lose, so I was close to the average.

My sister, had 20 pounds to lose and lost nothing at all on induction so she gave up and went back on low fat. She still hasn't lost any weight and she is suffering a lot more but c'est la vie, her life her decision :)

We both started on 1/9/03.

WOW!! Those are some great numbers!! Thanks for sharing, I was wondering, so I knew how I was doing--of course taking how much I want to lose and all. I'm going for 50 pounds, and I lost 7 in the first week. I'm SOOOO excited for week 2!!

Love ya all!!

I lost 9 the 1st week and 6 the 2nd week. Week 3 I stayed the same. Even when you don't lose weight check your measurements because you will probably be losing inches. I lost 3 1/2 inches my 3rd week. I have about a total of 45-50lbs to lose so I am happy with my start.
