Well WISHers...with the holidays officially over as of tomorrow, it leaves me with beginning induction again!
I have been RELIGIOUS to the Atkins plan since June 03 and have enjoyed success on it! For the past 2 weeks, I have been having cookies, and some of the other "forbidden" foods. Actually, I have done pretty well--better than in past years' holidays. I have managed to maintain, even though I have strayed.
I am nearing my end goal, 10 more pounds, so I am going to do induction again to kick me back on track. My question is: anyone out there starting induction again? Maybe we can support each other while beginning again? I am ready to go, how is everyone else?

Hi Beastlover,
I am also going to be going back on Induction. I will be starting on Friday, so I would love to be able to encourage each other. I know I didn't gain any where near as much as I have in past years, but I did indulge, and now want to get those few pounds OFF!
Anyone else out there going back on Induction? (My DH is also.)

I am back on Induction now, too - for yesterday and today and for a while! So that's two cheat free days so far!

Let's do this together! I really appreciate the support!

Me too! I've been straying a little bit here, a little bit htere. Unfortunately it has added up to straying a whole lot! :eareek: Over the past week or so I've been staying pretty close to induction with the exceptions of Christmas day & MIL's 87th b-day dinner :earseek: I will try to be good at our NYE party tonight but I'm sure there will be some cheating involved. I'm starting a no cheat induction as of tomorrow & I'd love some support! I need to get both feet firmly back on track so I get out of the stall I've been in.

Me too!! I am back on induction as well!!

Thought I would have to get back on Induction if I didn't get those 2 pounds off from Thanksgiving....but they're gone!! :cool1: :cool1: I have laid off the soda and flavored carbonated water. I'm also strictly doing salads and/or the french onion soup at work. Seems to have helped since I'm down four pounds. :teeth: I was sick for 3 days and that's possibly why a lot of the weight came off of me since I wasn't really eating. I even had things I wasn't supposed to while I was sick such as chicken NOODLE soup and CRACKERS. It was all I could hold down really. Since OJ is loaded with sugar I just ate straight oranges to get my vitamin C and it seemed to work pretty well.
I'm feeling much better and I can't wait to start Tae-Bo again. I did it last Thursday, but had to rest my body for two days. When I was ready to do it again, I got sick! So I'm better now and ready to work out again. Only 4 pounds from ONEDERLAND now and hoping to be there by the middle of January!

WHOA...JANUARY....WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED??!!

I'm not doing induction, I don't do Atkins. I just want to send all of you who are some PD :wizard: to help you get back on track. I know that you can do it :hyper:

I will be going back on induction on Monday. I have gained one pound this holiday season. I just have too much things going on until Monday that will have forbidden foods. We have 2 going away parties for DH this weekend that we have to go to. He is leaving Monday - so that is when I will get serious again. My goal is to completely shock him when he comes home!

I'm going back on induction on Monday. We also have too many things going on between now and then. I have gained about 5 pounds, but I think that is the water/bloat gain you get from eating too many carbs. (At least I hope so!;) )
I have also slacked off in the exercise department. DH has been swamped at work and with holiday preparations, I was overwhelmed with other obligations and little time.

Dh and I will both be on the bandwagon, so that makes it easier. He was at goal and I need to drop another 15-20.

I'm not the best at posting frequently, but I'll try to keep checking in!

Although I'm not going BACK on induction tomorrow, I do start induction for the first time tomorrow. So I could really use the support-it's so great to meet some others who'll be there right with me. Went grocery shopping yesterday to make sure I have plenty of induction type foods around, brought the Atkins book with me. I chose tomorrow for a few reasons:
1. DS goes back to college, and he's a Pizza Delivery person when he's home.
2. The garbage men come tomorrow, so when I get up and throw out all the "forbidden" foods, they'll be long gone.
3. Friday just seemed like a good day of the week to start!
Wish me luck!

Happy 2004! I will be going back on induction, however, I got on the scale this morning to check the bad news.... AND THERE IS NONE! Surprisingly I did not gain any weight, and even lost the 4lbs that I was holding on to. (Thanks Whoosh fairy, great Christmas present!) I do plan to indulge today, but will be back on tomorrow.
We can do this together!

WOW!!:earseek: I am so releived to not be the only one! I am looking forward to supporting each other through this!
For those of us starting today (Thursday) we will be enduring the sugar cravings and withdrawal headache by what do you say, Sunday? eesh....:scared: well, it is just one day, and then we will be VICTORIOUS!!
Good luck everybody!

Add me to the list of being back on Induction...I strayed a little bit while on vacation and had some forbidden things, but now that the New Year is here, I am back on Induction and sticking to it!! :) Good to know we can all support each other! :)

OK, what's this about headaches? If (Woops, meant to say WHEN!) I start tomorrow, when will I get these headaches? And about how long? Is there anything I can take (maybe my Imitrex?) to get rid of them, or is this something I just grit my teeth and live through? No, I'm definitely not having second thoughts-now that I've found some others going through this too, I'm really enthused. Almost anxious for tomorrow!

I didn't experience any headaches or tiredness on induction (I still stay under 20 carbs per day weeks later)...my DH did feel extremely out of it, however, he added back some carbs (somewhere between 40-60 per day) and he's still losing weight and feels much better.

My advice is to plan, weigh, measure your portions and eat 3 smaller meals and 2 snacks a day to keep your energy level up and not allow yourself to get hungry. Be creative in the kitchen with your meals - don't get stuck in a rut or you may find yourself wanting something you shouldn't have.

Simba's Mom -

Many people feel like doo doo around days 3 and 4 - it is from your body detoxing (getting rid of the sugar). I did take tylenol for the headaches. Different people have different reactions - with any luck, you will be one of the few who don't have any side effects. But if you do, rest assured that they ARE short lived.

Good Luck!!!

My Day 1 on Induction tale:

Started out with an omelette with cheese and mushrooms, and water. (I sure do miss that lo-carb toast I was having....)

Lunch was some cheese and sausage, and also a cucumber chopped up with ranch dressing and dill on them. Yum! I love those cucumbers!!

Around 2pm I was resisting the new habit I made of going over to the oversized tin of cookies on the counter and shoving one in my mouth as I walked thru the kitchen. I was really wanting one!! I resisted with some green olives. yum?

Dinner was great, I had a salad and chicken cooked with bruschetta and melted mozz. cheese on top. This has to be one of my favorite lo-carb dishes! Dessert was my special fluff, it really helps with the sugar-craving after dinner.

Anyway, anybody else have success today? I can't wait to see how we are doing!!

Michelle

Good job Michelle! You survived the first day and managed to avoid those cookies! ::yes::

I'm not starting full induction yet. (I was going to start on Mon., but am rethinking it and may do it earlier.) But today I will be cleaning out all of the lousy foods that I've allowed to creep into my house. I have actually been eating foods loaded with sugar and white flour--cookies, cake, crackers--without a second thought. Today will also be about drinking all the water that I've been forgeting to drink.

Good luck to everyone!
