Is there any connection? My legs and hips have been killing me for the past 4 days. I've done nothing out of the ordinary and I'm thinking that it could be due to the drastic change in diet. Maybe I'm missing an essential nutrient?

I'd be happy for any advice. It eases up somewhat during the day but it hurts a lot at night.

Ouch...sorry to hear you're in pain. :(

Do you take any vitamins or supplements? I know in Dr Atkin's New Diet Revolution he goes into good detail about the supplements you need to take when on this way of eating. Have you read the book? I just gave my copy to a friend or I'd look up the specifics for you. Maybe they are on the web site...I'll go take a look.

In any case, you should at least take a good multivitamin daily (I take One A Day - Active). I also take calcium because I have never drank milk in my life (yuck-o!) and I get terrible charlie horses if I don't.

I'll let you know what I can find out about supplements....

Thanks so much Terri! I was thinking that Potassium was the culprit because my body is used to its daily banana, and my multivitamin has only 5% of the RDA for potassium. I'll check the magnesium when I get home.

I appreciate your help. :)

I can sympathize with you. I just went through this. The pains kept me awake for 3 nights in a row. Last night I only woke up 1x with the pain and when it woke me up at 4:30 I just got up for the day. I actually went to the Dr. to have blood work done because it was so bad. They didn't find anything but she gave me a muscle relaxer and told me to take Aleve 2x a day. I also added a potassium supplement and a multi vitamin. Things are getting better today. Try a hot shower to relieve the pain. Hope you feel better soon. Just don't get discouraged(trust me, I was ready to give up). Good luck!

Okay, Terri, that's it. You have to take the WISH challenge now, you've replied to at least two posts and you know what you are talking about. It's in the bylaws, I'm sure...:teeth:

wdwnutze, I'm sorry you are going through this too. :(

At first I was just achy and I thought I was coming down with something. But then the achiness became a bunch of tight muscles and it was hard to do anything. Last night I had to have my husband get my nightgown from the bottom drawer. I just couldn't get down there. He rubbed me down with bengay, and then because I smelled so bad the poor guy had to sleep on the couch.

Knock on wood, it isn't too bad at the moment...better than it has been the past few days. I've been trying to stretch as much as possible and it seems to be helping. Hopefully this will pass as our bodies adjust.
