atkins and birth control pills

I read in the Atkins book that birth control pills can sometimes greatly slow down weight loss. Has anyone found this to be a problem for them?

I've been on Atkins for about 8 weeks, and take birth control pills. I have found no problem losing while taking them.

Imagine how slow weight loss would be if you STOPPED taking them.....LOL!!!

Seriously...I know that you may retain some water while on the pill...but if you have been on them a while...you shouldn't have any problmes losing weight.

Thanks for the replies. I was surprised when I saw this information in Atkin's book. He listed it right up there with thyroid problems. I'm starting on Atkins next week.

I'm glad to know that yall haven't had any problems losing. Otherwise I was going to make a Dr.'s appt. for my husband!

YES --- I know that they have been stalling me BIG TIME. Good Luck -- I hope they work out okay for you. The past 2 months I have been on Yasmin and have lost a few pounds during that time --- compared to gaining on the previous pills even though I was virtually cheat free [except one day].
