Ativan?

I was given Ativan before my LASIK procedure on Monday. I have been having a terrible metallic taste at the back of my throat. Has anyone else experienced this and if so how long does it last?

I took Ativan for several weeks for severe anxiety attacks...no metallic taste at all. Could it be from another medication given during that time?

That was the only medication I was given. A friend of mine said her husband took it when he was having kidney stone problems and he had a metallic taste too that is why I am thinking it is the drug. Hopefully it goes away soon.

I have taken them on occasion, and ALWAYS get the metallic taste in my mouth...

How long did it last? I had the one pill on Monday and am still having the taste. It isn't constant, but it does re-occur from time to time.

I can not say positively, but it was at least a couple of days. I looked it up, and it is a side effect of the drug. Hopefully you don't experience this much longer.

Thanks, it was bad when I woke up this morning, but seems to be gone for the moment. Of course that is what happened yesterday too and then it came back around 8pm last night.

I'm sure it probably is caused by the Ativan but it seems so strange because that medication has pretty short half-life--it's in and out of you pretty quickly.
