Athens GA vicinity hotels?

Does anyone have any hotel recommendations for the Athens or Commerce area? Planning a weekend trip in a couple of weeks to go meet a long lost family member. An Orbitz search shows that Athens is pretty much booked, so anything in the general vicinity? Thanks!

I live in Athens. If everything is booked here, your going to have to look in the outlying counties. How close to Athens do you want to be and how much do you want to pay? Did you try the Ashford Manor in Watkinsville? It's a pretty little B&B and the prices aren't bad. http://ambedandbreakfast.com/. Off of 85 in Jefferson and Commerce are the usual interstate motels, only one in Jefferson and a couple in Commerce. Chateau Elan Winery is not too far down 85 and it's a beautiful resort as well http://www.chateauelan.com/. Push come to shove, anything along 75/85 from Atlanta toward Athens will work, it's not really that far.

We were told that anything near Athens or Jefferson would be okay - we aren't sure exactly where we're going (sort of a complicated situation). Looking for something less than $200/nt or so.
Is the Commerce area decent? It's looking like that will be the best option.

Is there something going on in GA in general the weekend of March 4? We originally planned to spend one night in Savannah, but they're booked too.
