At Which Resort Was Your First Purchase?

Over the years, we've had a number of polls about a variety of DVC topics. It's sometimes interesting to repeat those polls.

So, at which resort was your first DVC purchase?

First resort was SSR 300 pts. Second was also SSR 200 pts. We didn't know anything about resale back then. But we are happy with SSR and have been able to get into other resorts when we wanted, most of the time.

Second presale 150 pts at BCV
Third presale 150 pts at SSR

OKW still the favorite-

First was SSR 250 points, second AKV 150 points, and BLT 105 points. Have not stayed at SSR yet....maybe someday!

Boardwalk Villas was my first purchase because I was too slow in getting into DVC. When it first came out, a friend was going to go into it with me and then backed out. I waited until I had enough to purchase on my own and when I was ready, the Boardwalk was what was available.

All in all I am very happy that it worked out that way, though, because BWV is my favorite resort thus far and the one that I spend most of my time visiting.

Enjoying reading all the DVC posts (I'm a newbie) and a DVC member for 16+ years. Can I ask why some forum people recommend buying small contracts rather than a single larger sized one? It can't make any difference to us now, we have three contracts and am not planning any further purchases, I am just interested! Many thanks.

We started in 2005 with a resale contract at SSR, added on a few more SSR points and then decided to sell these to change UY. We now have AKV and VGC.

I caught addonitis very quickly but have been able to restrain myself for the last 11 months.

We had stayed in the Beach Club Hotel in '98 and really enjoyed the resort
and location next to Epcot. When we heard about BCV, we bought sight unseen during the initial offering. Happy ever since.
