At what price would you jump on a fare?

Qantas Grand Prix sale fares Melbourne to LAX are $1299 return and I am very tempted...

Depressing though once I add in the internal flights (LAX to Orlando, Orlando to Washington then NY to LAX) it just keeps adding up $$$

did you compare Melbourne DFW instead of LAX?

DFW was $1500 and something ... Is DFW usually cheaper for international/domestic flights?

We need to go:

Melbourne - Orlando
Orlando - Washington DC
NY - Melbourne

I haven't looked at internal flights from DFW to Orlando or NY to DFW for the return home. Ill have a look now

thanks! I am finding airfares really trying - there are so many options and I don't have a clue which ones to even start with! Plus we are travelling with my parents and my 2 girls aged 5 and 6 so sometimes the lowest fare just won't suit us.

I now live and die by hipmunk.....they have every flight ever created in the usa.....great tool, then book thru the airlines website.
ALWAYS BOOK THRU THE AIRLINE WEBSITE......if an issue arises, they can fix it. Also sign EVERYONE, including the little people up with the frequent flyer program associated with your air travel......the points will add up really quick...Free flights for all

Flying with little people, thenfly frontier or virgin, they both have in flight entertainment on ALL aircraft...delta etc, its a bit of a pot luck thing. Frontier also have 2 bags free, no baggage costs, which could save a small fortune

ok....
exciting times to be had re: my delta Orlando-lax flight, they changed it to a 5 min lay over in SLC....not going to make it...so rang Delta...40 min on hold and the chick apologised and said "Mrs Aussie karen, We will have to put you on our non stop 7 pm flight instead, seats 1A & B ok?

so we are going from 8 hr flight to 5......DH is on ...he hates flying.
And how much did this upgrade to the most expensive flight that day cost....NOTHING!!!!

I Delta...you rock my world .....now if only disney dining loved me

Great stuff Aussie Karen.
I would normally jump under $1200.
This year we are going in October and have to be in Vegas on a certain date so I took $1240 on V.
Happy with that.

I jumped on the $1299 fares with Qantas - so I guess that's my jump price

When I started planning this trip I had a figure of $1300 in my head but when I first started looking the flights were as high as $2000! I started to worry that the high Aussie dollar was pushing up demand and that my $1300 fares were a dream.

Then I started seeing some sales for early this year and they were more reasonable prices but when I saw the $1299 Qantas for November I knew it was a sign!

Someone with a stronger constitution will probably save more money but that ain't me
