At what age do you stop making Easter baskets for your kids?

Hmm not sure when it will stop. My DD 30 and my DS 32 still get baskets along with our 2 DGS and DIL.

We get them from my mom and my granny...and we are 29,30, and 31....and my sisters are married. hey, i'm not complaining!

My two girls still at home are 16 and 19. Last year I said NO MORE! All it is is candy and junk they throw away anyway. BUT, that being said, I may do a little something for them this year. Not sure what though. It's hard enough buying them Christmas and birthday presents let alone Easter ones Maybe I'll keep it spiritual this year, give them a Saint medal or prayer book.

I don't put only candy and junk in the baskets. Then again, my kids are little so it might be easier for me than someone with older kids. My kids get a little candy. Well, the older one will get some candy. Usually, a chocolate bunny and some jelly beans. The baby will only be 9 months so no candy for her. Then I will typically put some stuff in there that I will buy anyway. They each are getting a swimsuit and a cover up, a pair of crocs, and a few summer clothes. The older one will get some activity books and markers, bubbles, a Barbie, and sidewalk chalk. The younger one will get Baby Mum Mums, Puffs, a stuffed rabbit, and Baby Food pouches. I try to put things in there that are useful and that they like instead of crap that they will just throw out along with a toy that they will like.

I stopped last year & put the baskets in my annual Spring yard sale. DD was 19yo & DS was 16yo.

I am 46 and Mama and Daddy still make sure I have something for Easter (yes, I still have my original basket that she filled for years)...now days it is an Itunes card for DH and usually I get candy and a Disney gift card...but she still does it after all these years. I am so fortunate to still have them closeby. My MIL gives DH and I each a little bowl of Easter candy too.

When they have their own kids and I start making a basket for the grandchildren.

My guess is this. My kids are 18 and 21 and I still enjoy making their baskets.

My kids are 18, 16 and 16 and for the past few years I have cut back. They get a small chocolate bunny, a bag of starburst jelly beans and an Itunes card for $10.

My husband and I had this same conversation at dinner tonight and our almost 13 said he still wanted one. What prompted it was I bought a movie he wanted and set it aside for his Easter basket - Night at the Museum 3 and my husband said our son was too old. I have used the same basket for the last 13 years. I usually buy too much at Christmas and go through my stash set somethings aside for a small Valentines gift, Easter and his birthday before I wrap everything.

My son probably won't be home for Easter, so I'll send him a box via Post Office. He's a senior in college.

Once my kids get to high school they will probably graduate to a nice big chocolate bunny, no fanfare or basket

My kids still get one; they are 12 and 14.

They will get some good chocolate, candy, and some present. This year my son is getting the Ghostbusters Lego car and my daughter is getting some nail stickers and other small things (I try to keep the monetary value similar).

DD is 25, married and just had my sweet little grandson (he will be 6 weeks old on Saturday). She still gets a Easter Basket, When she was single I would fill it with girly stuff, nail polish, make up, hair accessories, and candy, maybe a movie GC, and fast food or starbucks GC. Once she got married, they got a basket to share, each got a bunny or special candy for each, then a restaurant GC, movie GC so they could have a date night. This year, with the addition of my grandson, He will get a basket with a few baby things that they need, and I will do a basket for them most likely GC and a few special treats.. coffee that the like, and a mom and dad coffee mug to go along with it.

When mine are moved out most likely. Although I'm currently trying to figure out what to do for my oldest this year who will be at college over Easter. The college has a horrible mail system so I don't want chocolate sitting melting in the heat for 2 weeks before they get it to him.

So I'm thinking of doing mostly unmeltable stuff like Beef Jerky, his favorite chips, ect. and sending it in a gift bag along with a gift card for his favorite online video game place.

I thought I would stop for DS last year when he was 21. He was going to get a small gift card and a nice chocolate bunny but not really in a basket. DS 8 however would not hear of it. Of course his big brother had to put his basket out and of course the bunny would fill it. How sad he would be if that did not happen. Thing is, the kid does NOT believe in the Easter bunny....never has.... just in the basket he gets, but he was truly upset at his brother not getting one so of course I head to Walk-mart the night before and get a few things for his basket. We don't go over board so not too hard.

I would think once my kids move out or graduate high school. I have 2 boys and while they love getting their baskets, just think it seems sort of odd to think of making them one when they are men in their 20's.

I will be 40 ! this fall and I still get one. It is usually some candy, maybe a lotion and body spray from Bath & Body. Nothing big- my siblings and spouses get something too, and the 9 grandkids... but my grandma still gave us stuff until she moved in to a nursing home. My family is big on holidays.

I've been thinking about that for this year and I'm probably going to be the easter scrooge but I don't think I am going to do a basket for my kids anymore and they are ages 16,13,9 so its not like they are super old (I may not have given them one last year either I can't remember) There is really nothing to put into them that isn't like a present without just doing candy. I don't mind the candy but I will probably just take them the next day to pick out some half price easter candy. They are past the stage of sidewalk chalk and bubbles and I don't want it to turn into another Christmas stocking type of deal.

Well, I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum here My DS is 4 and baby girl is 10 months so I have never really made Easter baskets. Both have April birthdays and DS is always right after Easter so it seemed like a waste but I think I may do some this year. I'm actually considering using it as a way to tell then about our end of April Disney trip, with themed baskets. My mom stopped when we were in our early teens.
