When my son was 4 we took him to Chef Mickey's (which was in the market place at that time). He was so bashful around Mickey, but he really seemed to like having that attention from him at the same time. Mickey really played it up for him too, he sat at our table for several minutes pretending to eat the kid's ice cream and really doing a good job of interacting with the kids.
Anyway, a few seconds after he walked away, my son says to me, "Mom, I didn't like him, his head is cracked right down the back!"
It really bothered my son, so I finally had to tell him that it was just a costume like he wears when he goes out trick or treating.
He then turns to my 3 year old daughter and just had to tell her too!!
Funny thing is, this kid believed in Santa till he was about 11 or so and NO ONE was going to tell him otherwise!
